The trunk latch on my 2001 Hyundai sonata will no longer latch onto the metal hook, it either just says open or closed if I physically move it, so i can't lock my trunk. how do I fix this?

I tried seeing if the lock on the side of the latch was the problem but it was not. I don't even think it's actually doing anything anymore. The lever next to my driver's seat doesn't work either but I can tell that it works it just doesn't pull on anything.

I have Hyundai Sonata 2016 se somehow my cargo trunk got stuck in open boot position i am trying to close the trunk but it stucked and not coming down any help wl be appreciated Thanks

You will probably find you have pressed the key lock when the boot was open and the latch on the boot has closed have a look were it locates on the lock bar and see if it is open then if not try with the key unlock button.
This should work or you may need to push it open with a screw driver.

The trunk on my 2011 Sonata opens randomly without touching the remote or the switch inside the car. Any thoughts?

take the FOB out of your pocket and drive for a while. if it still opens, check the latch mechanism to be sure is it fully engaging. The trunk may be popping because the latch is not fully engaged.

The trunk latch on my 2003 Nissan Altima will not work. Whenever I try to close it, the latch will not catch so I have it tied down with a rope. How can I fix this?

It sounds like the latch mechanism is in the closed position, which would prevent it from catching when you close the trunk lid. Try using your key to unlock the latch, or activate the trunk opener from inside the car. If neither of those works, you may have to use a screwdriver or similar bladed tool to manually open the latch. Also, check the metal bracket that the latch catches on. It could be out of position, or could have something covering it, preventing the latch from locking onto it.

2001 AUdi S4 Trunk will not open. Can't open manually or wiht remote. WIll do it speratically. Can not open manually wiht button at trunk or with key. HELP.

The same "latch" secures the trunk closed.
The key, electric relay and button operate the same latch.
IF the trunk fails to open, the "latch" is not completely releasing from the catch that secures it.
The next time that you open it, inspect the adjustment of the latch assembly. It has 2 bolts that secure it. You can loosen them and adjust the assembly to a slight more open position - so that each time you operate the latch, it releases from the catch.

Don't move the assembly too far - or the trunk will not be able to lock closed at all.

2007 Hyundai Sonata - Trunk is very hard to open

Is it stuck or just feel very heavy? If it is just feeling very heavy than the trunk struts need replacing. Your local part store might be helpful and install them for you if you purchase them there. If it feels like it is getting stuck on something the latch might need a little adjusting on the ring part. If this is the case then to adjust you usually loosen so it can move with little force but not too loose and open and shut trunk a few times and open one more time slowly and then tighten bolts being careful not to move latch. Hope this helps.
