How do you replace the neutral safety switch on a 1991 ford f150 six cylinder lariat

The neutral safety switch is located on the transmission shift lever. Its held onto the transmission case by 2 bolts in slotted holes. You will need to remove the kickdown lever. The switch will slip off the shift lever with just a little pry if dirty. Replace the switch while the transmission is in neutral. There is a small hole in the side of the switch to stick a small pin or awl into to locate the neutral position of the switch. I would try to adjust the old switch before replacing it.

NEUTRAL SAFETY SAWITCH

Often it is screwed into the side of the transmission, under the car. It will have two or maybe three wires coming from it.

You probably need a linkage adjustment,a neutral safety switch adjustment or replacement of the neutral safety switch.

Starter fuse for 1999 F150 location

There may not be a fuse in that circuit. Much more common issues involve the neutral safety switch. Try starting in neutral and then on either side of neutral. These safety switches sometimes go out of adjustment, or fail.

Where is the neutral safety switch?

Should be mounted on the drivers side of the transmission, usally behind the shifter lever coming out of the transmission.

1998 ford f150 doesnt have signal for starter solenoid and ignition switch is new

Using a jumper wire, connect the S. terminal on the starter relay to the battery connection on the relay. the starter should engage. if it does not, your problem is between the starter relay and the starter itself. if it does engage, check your neutral safety switch if you have an automatic , or your clutch pedal switch if you have a standard shift.
