The LED displays (radio, computer, gear shift, ac controls) on my 2003 Envoy are becoming intermittent. It started the other day driving in a downpour, I turned the wipers on and the display went blank. I turned the wipers off and the displays returned. Now they seem to be more intermittent and will stay blank for a few seconds when the vehicle is started. I thought it was a moisture related bad connection or something tied to the wiper switch but now I'm not sure. Any ideas?
This sounds like your alternator maybe going bad. When your alternator starts to go bad lights such as headlights, radio lights will go dim wipers will start to move slower but if you cut one of the things off such as the wipers the lights will get brighter for a few minutes then not long the car will shut completely down.
