How do I by pass the security system on my ,1995,mitsubishi montero

I had the same problem after replacing the battery on my Montero. I bought mine used but luckly the pervious owner had written the 4 digit number down in the owners manual. After finding the number, I had to enter it into the radio by using the station preset buttons. If you can't find or don't have it in the owners manual. You will have to get the model and serial numbers off the radio and contact Mitsubishi or another source to obtain the correct code to reset the radio.

You will need to get the serial number from the sticker on the case of the radio, requiring removing the radio.

You can call Mitsubishi or a dealer with the serial number and they will provide an unlock code.

You can also post the serial number in a new question on FixYa, and myself or another Mitsubishi employee can get the code for you.

any ideas!! yes,,,skip out on this one,,,1995???? 197K !!! far to hight on miles its an old dog now, if its got a fult with the over drive whats the next thing thats going to drop off it? yep! its the engine!! and after that bits fell off, whats next? the gear box or just the rest of the car a bit at a time every week

First you get the code to see what is causing this. If their was a easy way to disconnect the security then it wouldnt be secure. But if you had a wiring diagrm what you would need to do is put a resister inline. All cars are different to deter thieves from doing this. One car my take 5ohm resister while another may be 15 or 20

easy test on alt start car loosen pos cable.then take off cable from batterie if alt is good it wont cut out.if it does,more than likely your alt. if the belt was the problem it would be noticeable by squealing and audible slipping.and most voltage regulators are built into the alternaters these day.
