97 chevy lumina won't turn over but lights work. Makes a click sound and thats it.

You need a new battery-
It takes a great deal more power to crank a motor than it does to light up the lights. This is why your lights still come on even though the battery does not have enough power crank the engine over. If you install a new battery keep an eye on it...if it dies quickly then you have a bad alternator.

Replaced the fuel pump on 97 dodge mini caravan now motor wont crank like the battery is dead. tried jumping it - nothing. All lights work bright! What did I do wrong?

I would check the starter for voltage first - there is a starter relay that is grounded by the PCM. If the ASD relay is faulty the pcm won't have power. You should have battery power to the starter and power on the solenoid when you turn the key to start.

I went to start my 92 lumina and it wouldn't start... the battery was dead, so I jumped it with a jump box and it was fine... I drove it to the store and back. 2 days later the battery was dead again...

first you half to determine if the alternater is working. you do his by jumping the car and while its running take of the neg cable off to the car if it dies then you know the alternater is not working properly,
if it stays running you know you have a electricalen short you half to trace down

1997 f 150 5.4 v8 truck turned over for about 2 sec. then died... wouldnt start... cranked for a little bit. had power, still tried jumping. its dead, on a charger now, but makes a heavy metal clunk...

First of all have your battery tested to make sure its in good condition. Take a look underneath at the starter and make sure all the bolts are tight and secured. You may end up replacing the starter

Starter has no power in start 95 Lumina would not start after shutting off. All accessories work. I also jumped the solenoid and it turns but the starter doesnt.

You are reading this wrong...solenoids don't turn. They activate the starter...that turns. Check your battery connections and battery/charging system. The starter requires far more power than anything else in the car, so those items working won't tell you much.

1991 chevy lumina 3.1 liter.problem started it was fine then went 3 blocks and it died stopping at sign.had problems getting it back started and it drive fine for a minute and lost power to like 20 mph but...

It is one of 2 things fuel pump or Crank Shaft Position Sensor. Best bet would be the Crank Shaft Sensor, and what that does is tell the computer where the crank is and when to fire the right plug at the right time
