OMG. I replaced the battery in my 06 G6 and had the same problem. the windows would not roll up or down how they did before. I read the answers on here and it does work. Hold up the window switch for ten seconds and it resets. You will have to do it to each window. Worked great. Thanks

not a lot else you can do either buy second hand or try getting a new key cut thats the cheaper option incase the key is goosed a friend of mine is having the same problem with his land rover the barrel is worn a wont accept his key so he is paying 29 pound for a new ignition barrel and harness

it could be your key is worn or your ignition switch is bad :)
