SOURCE: My 1997 Dodge Avenger's engine won't start

Try cam and/or crank sensor. If crank to cam timing isn't detected properly it'll crank all day but won't start. I had similar problem on my 2.5L V6 Avenger....drove home fine, no engine light, next morning it cranked, but wouldn't start. The crank sensor was faulty.

SOURCE: 1990 Dodge D150 5.2 Will not start

hook up a gas pressure gauge to the schrader valve. should be 50-60psi. If it doesnt have any, check relays, fuses. When you replaced the fuel pump you should have checked for 12V to the pump to confirm it was bad. I am assuming you did this. If not its worth checking again. If you dont have 12v its probably a fuse, relay, or wiring problem. Possibly bad ground?

My 1996 dodge neon is not getting any fuel to the system. theres gas in the car a brand new fuel pump and filter. what could be wrong?

Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome to the site. Fuel is pumped out of the tank by the fuel pump. It then goes to the fuel filter. Then, it goes through the gas lines to the injectors and engine. You need to scan your gas lines and make sure they are not damaged or clogged. If the lines are ok, you need to check your injectors. Check your fuel pump fuse/relays and reset button, if equipped. I am guessing the car will not start? Thanks for using FixYa.

1997 Dodge Intrepid has set up for several months while in hospital. Will not fire. Put small gas amount in air intake and it fires and runs for 10-15 seconds. Gas probably not getting to injectors. Pump...

Several months could be a tank of bad gas. When turning the ignition to on position the pump runs for 3 to 5 seconds to pressurize the system, next find the valve on fuel rail and press it, Shield with a rag while doing this. You should get fuel. Check the way it smells, bad gas has an awful smell that can make you hurl! Attach a fuel pressure tester, it should be around 50lbs. If it's bad empty the tank by pressing the needle and relieving the pressure. Next disconnect fuel line before the filter get a container to catch the gas. IN the engine conpartment disconnect the fuel pump relay and put a jumper wire to run the pump until tank is drained. Instal new filter and pump if needed and add a can of "Seafoam" to the tank with fresh gas. Run pump until there's fuel at the fuel rail then put relay back in. now we should have ignition and constant running. Hope this helped.

dont do it. fuel injectors fuel filters and plugs may need to be replaced I would not take the chance. some people say fill the tank the rest of the way with regualr unleaded gas I say "NO" there is to much at stake like a complete cleanout of the engine and fuel system and this could cost thousand yes thousands of dollars
