When a malfunction such as an open fuse to a module occurs while modules are communicating, a DTC U1001-1254 Loss of 000 Communications is set current. When the modules stop communicating the current DTC U1001-1254 Loss of 000 Communications is cleared but the history DTC remains. When the modules begin to communicate again, the module with the open fuse will not be learned by the other modules so U1000 or U1255 is set current by the other modules. If the malfunction occurs when the modules are not communicating, only U1000 or U1255 is set. Radio quit working shows Code IRC U1000 please help
SOURCE: how to replace the thermostat on 2001cadillac deville
4.6 Northstar V8. It is located on the rear of engine (driver side) in front. It is 1n the the waterpump housing cover. Remove airbox and intake tube and bottom radiator hose. 2 bolts(believe 10mm) on thermo housing. These systems are a lil finiky about air pockets....so fill slowly and let run at idle until operating temp and let cool and chk level.....fill as needed and repeat if needed.

it should take approximately 4 - 5 hours plus the cost of sensor
SOURCE: 2001 cadillac deville, overheats without loss of coolant
First, provided their are no visible coolant leaks and/or loss of coolant with no signs of leaks, I would thoroughly flush cooling system and replace coolant, then check and/or replace thermostat (you can place thermostat in boiling water to check for proper function), if you have tried these 2 steps and still are experiencing overheating you may need to replace your water pump which can be a tricky job if you're unfamiliar and try to do it yourself, however, I could walk you through it if necessary. Also visually check your radiator hoses for bulges, wear ,etc along with heater hoses etc. You may want to also check radiator fins to see if they are dirty/obstructed and clean if necessary. Let me know if I can assist you further and how it works out

IF when you purchased your car you didn't set your own personal code you will have to take this to your local GM dealer and they can pull the code that is set at the factory and unlock your radio.THe proceedure for setting your own code then unlocking radio is in your owners manual. The dealership I worked for did this for free.
SOURCE: my 2001 cadillac deville keeps giving me dtc code system to lean
Anytime I get a too lean DTC I first change the fuel filter if it hasn't been changed in awhile. You'd be surprised how many times this has helped.
Good Luck with it.

This DTC only sets if DTC U1300 or U1301 are not current
Attempt to establish communication with all of the modules using a scan tool.
Does the scan tool communicate with all of the modules?

Radio quit working shows Code IRC U1000,
Modules connected to the class 2 serial data circuit monitor for serial data communications during normal vehicle operation. Operating information and commands are exchanged among the modules. When a module receives a message for a critical operating parameter, the module records the identification number of the module which sent the message. These node alive messages are used for State of Health monitoring. A critical operating parameter is one which, when not received, requires that the module use a default value for that parameter. When a module does not associate an identification number with at least one critical parameter within 5 seconds of beginning serial data communication, DTC U1000 is set. When more than one critical parameter does not have an identification number associated with it, the DTC will only be reported once. The following modules communicate on the class 2 serial data circuit:
• Audio amplifier
• Cellular telephone module w/UV8
• Dash integration module (DIM)
• Driver door module (DDM)
• Driver door switch assembly (DDSA)
• Electronic brake control module (EBCM)
• Electronic suspension control module (ESC)
• Front passenger door module (FPDM)
• Inflatable restraint sensing and diagnostic module (SDM)
• Instrument panel cluster (IPC)
• Instrument panel integration module (IPM)
• HVAC control module - auxiliary
• Left middle door module (LMDM) w/V4U
• Left rear door module (LRDM)
• Memory seat module (MSM) w/A45
• Navigation data processor w/UY4
• Navigation display head w/UY4
• Powertrain control module (PCM)
• Radio
• Rear integration module (RIM)
• Remote control door lock receiver (RCDLR)
• Right middle door module (RMDM) w/V4U
• Right rear door module (RRDM)
• Steering column module w/N37
• Theft deterrent control module
• Window switch - passenger front w/armored car
• Vehicle interface unit (VIU) w/UE1
