SOURCE: overdrive transmission

you have an issue with the torque converter clutch, your symptoms indicate this is the issue, possible TCC solenoid problem or the torque converter itself has a shorted magnetic clutch.

SOURCE: Change front wheel bearings

u will need to remove the brake cailper and the the brake rotor, then the hub retaining nut, that is a large metric nut, the bearing and hub must come off, then u will need to take this hub to a machine shop or the dealer and have the new bearing pressed in.

SOURCE: side light bulb change on hyundai terracan

hi there
the solution is simple,
you only need to undo the screw on top of the side light/indicator. then facing the head light place a flat headed screw driver under the bottom lip of side light. the bottom of the lihgt is on a small push fit stud, use a sponge or cloth to protect your bumper paint work then just apply pressure gently to lever side light out towards you, It will come dont worry, you may then change your bulbs if you wish remove the whole light unit you will see the bottom bolt as soon as you release the side light. to replace just push back into place then replace screw. whole job takes about five minutes

hope this helps kevan hildred

88 mercury cougar slips in fourth and fifth gear what could cause this?

Worn bearings, worn plastic bushings in the linkages. Incorrect linkage adjustments. Usually there is clash and difficult shifting if the latter is the issue. The first two are most likely scenarios.

If it has been jumping out of gear for a while, rebuilding your transmission may be more expensive than buying a rebuilt unit outright or rebuilding a used unit.

My 2003 audi a4 convertable is jumping out of 1st gear sometimes can you sugest what might be causing this

Whenever a stick shift is jumping out of gear you think transmission.
If the first gear has some teeth that are chewed up then it will cause this to happen.

First check your motor and transmission mounts to make sure excess movement isn't pulling your car out of gear

Second check all the shift linkage bushings to see that the car is in fact pushing fully into gear

Good luck!!

Jumps when it changes gears

my guess is that it might be a mount bad and your feeling it jump in the housing of the mount. its also possible that there is a computer malfunction but its not common. my last educated guess is that there is a mechanical problem in the transmission. but it the clutches are not slipping and you don't hear any noises and the fluid is at the right level then it doesn't sound likely. its hard for me to tell exactly without me being able to be there and diagnose it. try sitting in park and holding the brake. shift from drive to reverse and back again to see if it feels like its jerking into gear. if so i would really check for a bad mount. i work a little on rear wheel drive transmissions. but don't have much experience in front wheel drive ones. but they are similar. hope this helps. texastbone

Jumps up and down at rear when braking

check front motor mounts. Hold brake and put in reverse then accelerate and let up on gas. do yhe same in forward gear.if you hear a thud a motor mount is broken with hood open you can see the motor lift up.. Acceleration causes engine to lift and drop. good luck

1996 honda accord lx 5speed

There are bushings on the shifter rods where the transaxle and the shifter rods connect and they are worn out. Replacing these will solve that problem. I had one do the exact same thing a few years ago and drove me nuts. This is most likely the problem. Either that or the transmission mount is severely worn out. Check that as well because they can imitate one another.
