2001 dodge dakota 4x4 has difficulty starting. The interior lights did not go off when I shut the door. I had to get a jump the last time this happened. It takes a long time before it starts up.

SOURCE: 2001 dodge dakota crank no start

Just had that problem w/ my 01 Dekota, it was the resistor that used to be mounted on the firewall and easy to get to but that is now mounted low on the back of the engine jammed into a bey tight position. I couldn't get to it myself, so ended up taking it to neighborhood garage. Cost me about $150

SOURCE: is front drivers side wheel

depends on what you mean by "hard" if your mechanically inclined no, if you aren't, yes. You will need to remove the tire, the brake assembly and then get a large (32 or 34mm probably) socket to take off the spindle nut, I think on the dakota you have to remove the ball joint with a ball joint separator, remove the bearing assembly from the half shaft. (standard procedure on most vehicles) Hope this helps!

My 2005 Dodge Dakota is having issues starting, it would start a couple times but would idle then shut itself off, while driving would shut off as soon as I released (something??).

You ran 20 volts into a 12 volt system?!?! You exceeded the specs of the electronics by 6 volts, so you will have damaged electronic computer components. You will need an auto electrician with a pro grade $5,000 scan tool computer to diagnose what modules and sensors have failed due to the over-voltage.

Started my 2001 dodge dakota with power locks and came back into house, when I went back outside the truck was locked with the key in it. Is there anyway to unlock it without breaking a window?

Professionals use an airbag that deflated can be worked into the top corner of a door window frame and when carefully inflated will flex the top of the door outwards and create a gap through which a variety of "fishing" tools and grabs can be used to unlock the door.

I used to use a variety of smooth hardwood wedges to achieve the same thing...

My 2001 dodge Dakota sport 4x4 3.9Lt interior lights don't work an can't find the fuses for it can anyone show an point it out to me ?

Alot of your Dodge vehicles have the interior lights on the same fuse as the cigarette lighter or the 12v power point. Check those two(if equipped) and go from there.

Interior lights and radio won't work

Check your fuses. More than likely blew one of them.

Headlights, interior lights are out and service 4x4 light is on

try disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes. Then if you have a remote lock, lock and unlock three times in a row as this will often reset the computer. Or, borrow a code reader from one of the parts stores and see what codes are stored. Once you have the code, go online and Google it.

Interior light stay on intermitant

Check for moisture under the interior carpeting.
I have see it cause this when the wiring gets wet on the connections from the door switches. Other wise you are going to have to get a meter and check all the wiring to each door and the lamp switch.
