How do you remove the back nuts on the electric drivers seat on a 1998 Bravada when the seat is froze all the way back? Thanks.

No you will have to remove the back of the seat cover to get to the latch bar to unlock the pins

Jack up the car, look underneath where the seats are located and you will find the nuts attached to the bolts that hold the seats in place.

I'm not positive about the DeVille, but I've removed seats from lots of other vehicles, and some of that may translate over here.

There should be four bolts (studs, really) going down through the floor from the seat mount frame. You should be able to find the four nuts under the vehicle's floor pan, after you jack up the driver's side and put jack stands under it (if it falls, it WILL crush you to death). Loosen those four nuts but don't remove them.

Now back inside, feel underneath the seat - find all the electrical connectors. Unplug them ALL. Doublecheck, triplecheck, make sure you get them ALL.

NOW you can remove the four nuts underneath the vehicle, tip the seat rearward to verify that you got ALL the electrical connectors, and remove it. It's HEAVY.

1. Raise and support vehicle, then remove tire and wheel assembly. 2. Install a brass drift or a screwdriver to prevent the rotor from turning, Fig. 7 . 3. Remove axle nut and washer. 4. Remove stabilizer shaft or link from control arm. 5. Remove nut from ball joint, then separate ball joint from steering knuckle using separator tool No. J-36226, or equivalent. 6. Remove drive axle from hub and bearing assembly using front hub spindle remover tool No. J-28733-A, or equivalent, Fig. 8 . 7. Remove drive axle from transaxle using axle shaft remover puller tool Nos. J-33008, J-29794 and slide hammer tool No. J-2619-01, or equivalents, if necessary, Fig. 9 . INSTALLATION 1. Install drive axle into the transaxle using seal protector J-37292-B, or equivalent 2. Seat snap ring by placing a screwdriver into the groove on the joint housing and tapping until seated, Fig. 9 . 3. Grasp the inner housing and pull outward. If the snap ring is properly seated, the axle will remain in place. 4. Install drive axle into hub and bearing assembly. 5. Install lower ball joint to steering knuckle and tighten to specifications. 6. Install stabilizer shaft or link to control arm, tighten to specifications. 7. Insert a screwdriver or drift into caliper and rotor to prevent rotor from turning, Fig. 7 . 8. Install new hub nut and washer, tighten to specification. 9. Install tire and wheel assembly, then lower vehicle

On frame under driver seat area. Must have high quality flare nut wrench for one side, and just press plastic release clips on other. Be Careful with gas coming out!!! When puttng new filter on, move plastic clip into fuel line fitting first before trying to press on. Bad fuel pumps are common on these vehicles, try "thepartsladi" store on eBay for low cost OEM replacement parts.

the seat is mounted to either studs or bolted down, there are two in the front and two in the rear, raise the seat up as high as it goes and disconnect the wiring harness, be carefull not to break the connector, move the seat back and remove the front nuts or bolts on floor, there may be a trim cover over them, repeat for rear, move seat foreward to access rear nuts or bolts (varies by year.)
