Removing the front cover on 2002 chevy trailblazer

heater core in trailblazer is a very complicated procedure. It involves disabling the air bag system and removing the entire dash (actually tilting it back against seat) to access the heater core box. It also involves removing some parts under the hood to release it from the firewall.

Small Block Chevy: Machined pad in front of the passenger side cylinder head. Often hidden by the alterator.

Big Block Chevy: Above timing chain cover.

Six Cylinder: Passenger side of the block behind the distributor

The fuel filter is located on the driver's side, centered between the front and rear tires, along the inside of the frame.
There happens to be a hole in the plastic covering that runs from just under the transmission back to the rear axle. If you can manage to remove the filter without removing the cover, you're better at this than I am.
After removing the cover, which entails removing a cross bar, four bolts and two nuts, the rest is easy. Make sure you have something to catch the gas that will drain from both lines. Squeeze the the blue clips on both lines to pop them off the filter. (This is when all the gas drains out). The filter is held in place with one screw (phillips) located above the filter. Remove old filter and replace with new. The new filter should be labled with "OUT". That line is the line that goes up to the engine. You will need to remove the blue clips from the old filter and snap them onto the new filter. Snap the fuel lines on the filter, tighten strap that holds the filter in place, replace the plastic cover then you're done.

I think you have a bad gasket on your oil filler cap.

you dont remove the front cover, open the hood look behind the headlight and turn the bulb couter clockwise, and replace the bulb in the headlight.. good luck keith...

This is actually an easy swap out. Remove the electrical connection, remove the retaining bolt and pull out old one. I believe the sensor is located in the front passenger side of the engine on this particular model.
