SOURCE: need help to remove 2005 Scion xB water pump

1st ...that should be covered under 6 year 50k power train warranty from the dealer.
But if your over....you need to unbolt the right side motor mount (on the water pump side) and lift the engine some with a floor jack to get clearance,

SOURCE: How d you replace the starter on a 2005 Scion xb?

There are two bolts, one is at the top exactly opposite of the first one you took out. You will not be able to see it, but feel around the head of the starter where it goes into the block and you will feel where it goes.

SOURCE: my 2006 scion xb vsc, traction, and check engine

I had the same problem. The cause (at least on my box) was a bad charcoal canister and the valve going to it. These go bad on the boxes fairly often. If you "top off" your tank, the overflow spills down into the charcoal canister and it will not function properly. IE: Engine, Trac, and VSC lights come on. It doesnt hurt it to drive with a bad canister, but you will lose mileage and that light will be staring you in the face every time you drive. The parts are pricey, dealer only parts and the canister is about $400. I found a totalled xb with a good canister and nabbed it for $40.....solved my problem. Hope this helps!

2004 Scion xB instrument panel & blinkers not working?

That is a mess and points to nothing in particular, perhaps a communication issue with the BCM?

You need an auto electrician with a professional grade $5,000 scan tool computer with access to wiring data and the ability to read wiring diagrams.

Remote starter only allows my starter to turn over twice; needs at least 3 with my key. How to adjust to have it starter run longer on remote?

I know you are looking to have the remote starter run a third time but I would say you need to look at your Fuel Pressure Regulator on the Scion. Sounds like it is not holding fuel pressure at the fuel rail and that is why it requires a third Crank

2004 scion xb won't start, does not turn over, battery is good

You car have security system.first locate the security light and make sure goes OFF after unlocking the car
turn the key and monitor the instrument cluster if all the light stay on
apply parking brake and whit left hand turn to starting position and with right sift from PARK to NEUTRAL
locate the starter and connect test light to small signal wire, other end to ground. let helper start the car. did the light go ON?(replace the starter)
the light stay OFF (electrical problem)
Inspect all the fuses, switch the starter relay with known good one, clean battery terminals, scan with advance scanner for malfunction code, and switch to live data Look for starting signal from computer

My scion xb 2005 wont start i charged the battery for 30 min or so and still wont start but i can turn on the radio, lower the windows, and start the air conditioner(does not get cold)

Still possibly a battery fault, radio uses about .3 amp, windows 3-5 amps, STARTER needs approx 30 amps. So a bad battery will power the auxiliaries but not the starter. Try a boost start from a known good battery and take it from there.

No i have pulled out the stereo myself and there is no port for it, that option is now offered on the 2008 which sucks because they where giving ipods away at the dealership when i got my 05 Scion xb makes no sense huh.
