You must disconnect the battery for 5 minutes then when you reconnect the cables press the alarm deactivate button on your remote I believe your car will start and when you see the pats light rapidly flashing the cars in theft mode and will not start

SOURCE: 2008 ford f350 6.4 diesel,

You might check for loose or damaged connectors under the hood specifically where the detailing was done, if the full engine was detailed you may try running it by a parts tore and having them run a scan on it to narrow it down or pinpoint the problem for you. Good Luck!

SOURCE: Why doesn't it start?

Clean the terminals and follow the battery negative cable, clean where it bolts to the engine and the body

What are the six, two digit, THEFT flash codes that come on after you leave the ignition on for 45 seconds following a no start due to PATS engaged. DTC B1681

Forget the other flash codes, this is the main one you need to diagnose an fix.

B1681 PATS Transceiver Module Signal is Not Received PCM GO to Pinpoint Test E .
Do you know how to do electrical testing using a Voltmeter?

E2 CHECK THE PATS TRANSCEIVER FOR VOLTAGE CIRCUIT 16 (RD/LG)
PATS Transceiver C2097
Measure the voltage between the PATS transceiver C2097 pin 2, circuit 16 (RD/LG), harness side and ground.
  • Is the voltage greater than 10 volts?
Yes GO to E3 .

No REPAIR the supply circuit. CLEAR the DTCs. TEST the system for normal operation

2004 Mountaineer no start no crank? Battery, starter, fuses, relays all good. No code errors. PATS problem. Original keys&fobs all good even reset manually and good. All dash lights functions ok.

. quick flashing when ? when trying to start the vehicle ? If yes you need to have it checked for codes . Do you know what DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes are . If that light is flashing while trying to start the vehicle codes are present in the module that controls PATS . Instead of guessing have towed to a qualified repair shop . Because you have no idea how to diagnose this system .

02merc mountaineer stalled while driving ive checked relays fuses pcm dtr wiring and starter and solenoid will not crank or fire {pat} also, all check ok new bat every thing else functions

PATS uses a visual theft indicator. This indicator will prove out for three seconds when the ignition switch is turned to RUN or START under normal operation. If there is a PATS problem, this indicator will either flash rapidly or glow steadily when the ignition switch is turned to RUN or START. PATS also "blips" the theft indicator every two seconds at ignition OFF to act as a visual theft deterrent.

My 2000 f 250 super duty want start, I changed both batteries, Cam sensor, Solenoid And it still want start

Won't start ? does the engine crank ? , meaning when you turn the key to the start position does the starter do anything ! A crank -no start VS a no crank - no start ! What engine does it have ? gas or diesel ? Does the check engine light come on when you turn the key to on ? Does the anti-theft light in the middle top of instrument panel flash fast when trying to start the vehicle ? PATS - passive anti-theft system problem !

I have a explore 2004 4dr 4.0 and It wont crank. starter good battery good. Us it the pats system and how do I check

Is there a little red light on the top center of dash pad ? Does it flash fast when trying to start the vehicle ?
PATS uses a visual theft indicator located on top of the instrument panel. This indicator will prove out for 3 seconds when the ignition switch is turned to ON or START under normal operation. If there is a PATS problem, this indicator will either flash rapidly or glow steadily (for more than 3 seconds) when the ignition switch is turned to ON or START. PATS also "flashes" the theft indicator every 2 seconds at ignition OFF to act as a visual theft deterrent.

My car thinks it is being stolen 2008 Ford Fusion anti theft has disabled ignition. Tried disconnecting the battery; remote entry with ikt; using key to unlock; hit panic button and turned it off with...

Hi Eileen , How do you know your having a anti-theft system problem ? Any lights flashing when you try to crank the vehicle ? The engine does not crank over ? If it is a anti-theft system problem ,disconnecting the battery is not going to do anything except lose some learned setting's in some control modules . There are a few thing's you can check but if none of these are the problem your going to have to have it towed to the dealer ! It'll need to be checked for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes !
PATS disables the vehicle from starting if there is:
  • a damaged PATS key.
  • a non-programmed PATS key.
  • a non-PATS key (key has no electronics).
  • damaged wiring.
  • a damaged transceiver.
  • a damaged instrument cluster.
Inspection and Verification
  1. Verify the customer concern.
  1. Visually inspect the following for obvious signs of mechanical or electrical damage.

Visual Inspection Chart Mechanical Electrical
  • Large metallic objects, a second passive anti-theft system (PATS) key on the same key ring as the PATS key, or electronic devices on the key ring that can be used to purchase gasoline or similar items
  • Ignition lock cylinder
  • PATS key
  • Use of a non-PATS key or incorrect PATS key
  • More than one PATS key on key ring
  • Remote start system installed
  • Smart junction box (SJB) fuse(s):
    • 13 (7.5A)
    • 23 (7.5A)
    • 26 (7.5A)
  • Circuitry
  • PATS transceiver
  • Ignition switch
  • Instrument cluster
You may not know where some of these things are located !

I have a '99 Ford Ranger 3.0L that won't start reliably(3 times in 2 weeks). When I turn the ignition to "on",the theft light flashes rapidly, and will eventually give me a 1:6 code(faulty link between PATS...

When the anti-theft light is flashing rapidly then either it is not seeing the key,or the transciever module is not communicating with the PCM. It could be the transciever or it could be the PCM is not powering up for some reason. I would first try replacing the PCM relay in the underhood fuse panel.
