My rear running lights don't work on my 92 marquis. I want to run a wire from my fuse box to a toggle switch and then to a light for both sides. If this is doable, what material should I use for this?

I know I need wire, a toggle switch and two light fixtures for the tail lights. Need to know specifics about gauge of wire, type of switch and lights to make this work. Do I need an extra fuse in the line for safety? The right way is too expensive for me right now since it involves taking it to a shop

If the front lights work, splice into that wire and and run it back to the rear. They all run off one fuse. No need for a switch.

Have a 97 honda. Just purchased. It has a toggle switch installed that works with original key ignition. That said... toggle controls whole electrical..everything works..except tail lights, and the dash...

So If I understand, you turn on toggle and then use key to engage starter? Do brake lights and turn lights work, just not the running lights? Or are all tail lights dead. If none work, juice is not getting to the headlamp switch. Best fix would be to replace the probably bad ignition switch and repair wiring back to original, but quick fix would be to run a second wire from toggle switched side to the headlamp switch +

REAR LIGHTS AND FLASHERS IS NOT WORKING

Hi there
your problem is either Light switch, broken wire from switch or from the fuse box or broken wires from switch to rear end which should run down 1 side of car coming from front to rear via in sill [thats in the side by the seats in side under the carpet either side] or it could be a earth wire broken so remove the rear light cover and turn on the rear light and touch a wire from any metal service to globe holder if it lights the globe then fir a wire to any light to earth and every thing should work.

My headlight low-beams don't work, yet the

I had a similar issue with a 92 Saturn SL1, were the problem wasn't anything easy. It ended up being that the wiring was so old and worn out (Somehow) that I ended up just buying the replacement light sockets with the wire leads and rebuilt the headlights to run off from toggle switches mounted on the dashboard.

Tail lights not working. fuses look good, brake lights work, hazards work, but running lights don't- gmc sierra 2500

do the front marker/park lights work if not you could have a bad light switch on the tail light side of the switch.you need to check the brown wire at the back of the truck in the wiring harness as this is the tail light wire that feeds the bulbs.if you have power there then you will have to check for power at the socket,if no power at the socket but were you check the wire then there is a problem between the two that you will have to check out.if there is no power when checking the wire then you will have to check for lose of power between the switch and rear wiring.make sure the fuse is good by using a test light and not by looking as sometimes they look good but don`t work.

My ranning lights on rear end dosnt work. My brake lights work turn singnals work but my running lights don,t work and dash lights

GET A GOOD FUSE TESTER, TEST ALL THE FUSES. THERE IS A FUSE BOX UNDER THE DASH, CHECK EACH FUSE TURN ON HEADLIGHT SWITCH, THE FUSES CAN BE TESTED WHILE STILL IN THE FUSEBOX. POWER ON ONE SIDE, FUSE IS BAD. POWER ON BOTH SIDES, FUSE IS GOOD. POWER ON NEITHER SIDE, SPARE FUSE. IF THERE IS NO POWER AT THE TAIL LIGHT FUSE, THE HEADLIGHT SWITCH MAY BE BAD. IF THE FUSES ARE THE OLDER GLASS BARREL TYPE THEY MAY HAVE BECOME CORRODED OR RUSTY. IF SO YOU WILL NEED TO CLEAN THE FUSE BOX CONTACTS WITH FINE GRIT SANDPAPER & PUT IN A NEW FUSE.

On r 92 corolla the tail lights on the rear r out. I've checked the fuse & bulbs. I tried to put them on a toggle switch but when I tied into harness the turn signals started to act up!

if similar to camry there is a yellow box under the driver side panel in the trunk that controlls the lights it is very expensive a friend of mine cut his out and wired it straight it worked but I would recommend a salvage yard if you can find one that has not been crushed yet....Good Luck

Roof mounted spotlights

You can run the power wire into the cab to a universal
toggle switch. Then run a wire from the other side of the switch to the + side of your second battery.
Ground the light at the mounting point. Be sure to use a 20amp circuit breaker toggle switch, or splice in an inline fuse holder with a 20amp fuse, on the +
side. Hope this helps. Good luck.

I have a 1985 Cheverolet pick-up. I have a cluster of under dash guages that I installed about ten years ago. Last week I replaced them with new ones. After doing so, My rea tail lights will not cut...

Sir,
It's probably the brake lights that are staying on, check again, if the brake lights are staying on the brake light switch needs to be replaced. The reason I believe it's the brake lights is that they will turn on even with the key off so make sure which lights are staying on.
