Hi Anonymous, I want to help you with your question, but I need more information from you. under what condition's stalls?
parked, flat easy cruise, up hills
only at stops sign , hot or cold engine
did the ASD relay drop just before the stall.. Did it start up easy>? after the stall. did a scanner shows pending DTC errors, (many dtc take 2 driving cycles to see them , others 3, so pendings is the path to WHY. Pendings a special OBD2 mode.
only saying stalls, has near 50 ways go.
    50 causes... lacking when.

Just a guess, but if you are stalling out, yet the engine still starts each time, you may have a clogged fuel filter.

I have a 1996 Jeep Grand cherokee with the 5.2l v-8 engine. Last week I started it, and it ran for about 1 minute before shutting off. The engine cranks, but no ignition. I replaced the Crankshaft position...

Time to meter voltage. Start with the 12V circuit. Are you getting voltage at the coil. Does the voltage fluctuate when the engine cranks? If yes to both check the high voltage circuit. Start with the coil then the distributor then each plug. You should be able to find where the spark is failing.

Keeps back firing and stalls

You probably have the distributor installed one tooth off. Or if it was doing this before you did all this the timing chain has jumped a tooth. remove the distributor cap, then set the timing mark on top dead center, then have someone watch the rotor and tell you when it moves then check how many degrees it moved. It should not be no more than about 2-3 degrees if more than that you probably need a timing chain and gears. BigD

I would make sure you have voltage to the coil. Could be a fuse or relay problem. Is the check engine light on when you turn the key on ?

you need to check the fuel pressure, and did you mean you replaced the distributor or just the rotor because inside the distributor is a pickup plate that some times causes this also 02 sensor can cause this.is your check engine light on if so go to chain auto parts store they usually read your codes for free.

my 96 grand cherokee had the same problem with stalling minus the clock reseting part. what fixed mine was an idle air control motor it sits at the back of the throttle body on top of the motor. the part cost about 60 bucks and it hasn't stalled out on me since. i hope this helps you out.
