SOURCE: Code po101, hard start when hot (have to hold W.O.T. to start) & stumbles on accelertion. Changed MASS sensor, no help.

Basically this means that there is a problem with the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor or circuit. The PCM detects that the actual MAF sensor frequency signal is not within a predetermined range of the calculated MAF value for more than 4.0 seconds.  I would try cleaning out your MAF sensor with some carb cleaner and reseting the check engine light to see if it comes back on.  If it does, get back on here and let us know and we will walk you through some other things you can try.  Cleaning it out will be the easiest/cheapest thing for you to try right now.  Good luck.  Thanks for an honest rating and for using FixYa.

this sounds like a fuel issue, sometimes can be difficult to diagnose because its obviously being intermittant. whether its a fuel pressure regulator or the pump itself, i feel the most likely cause is the pump itself losing prime and thats why you have to try 2 times or more to crank because you are creating pressure from the fuel tank everytime you try to crank, this would also be a possibility as to the shut off if its getting hot than shutting down and than your able to start it back up. i would put a fuel pressure gauge on the vehicle and watch my fuel pressure readings to make sure they are staying true. if the fuel pump checks out than it will be an ignition or computer issue, i hope this helps

Having trouble with engine killing or running rough even after it's warm.

not for sure but it could be your cam sensor. if the check engine light is on then take it to a parts store and they can run a scan and give you more information

Initially ran rough blew blue smoke from exhaust, smelled like rotten eggs and died. After several starts it kept running fine until 15 miles down the road the engine killed while at highway speed. After...

If it's blue smoke, your burning oil. Get the head gasket checked. If that's ok your looking at something more serious, (more expensive), inside the engine.

2010 Impala doesnt want to start when the engine is cold but when it is warm it has no issue

hard starting when cold indicates an ambient temp sensor or Baro sensor problem as the correct data is not being sent to the ECM to adjust the fuel setting for cold start
other areas are the MAF/VAF sensors
with gm products the correct scanner has to be used as many do not have the protocol software to read gm codes
find an accredited service center first and ask if they have the right scanner to read GM codes and if yes , get the codes read and get a quote before going to the service deaker
