SOURCE: 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier, service light came on

I would check the voltage at the battery while the engine is running. If over 15 volts , your voltage regulator is shot , and your headlights cooked.

If that is problem , alternator will have to be replaced.

SOURCE: need to know where spark plugs are located in order to change

Follow the spark plug wires down into the engine, a soft tug should pull the wire loose from the plug and then you will need a spark plug socket to change them.

SOURCE: 1999 Chevy Cavalier Horn Relay Location

The relay is located under the glove compartment. Little difficult to get to but if you peek your head just underneath, you'll see it. Easy to take out and replace. Ive replaced mine and still have a problem. I hear a clicking noise and even can feel the contact when horn is pressed. I changed the horn about 1yr ago and now am wondering if the horn could have gone out so soon.

Headlights on my 1999 Olds 88 LS won't come on. Manual reset breaker is OK. Have power to the breaker. The headlight relay is not where they say it's supposed to be.

Where do they say relay is ?
RH IP fuse block headlamp relay position J
Headlights Circuit Description (Oldsmobile)
Battery positive voltage (B+) is supplied through the LH underhood fuse block LCM/HDLP circuit breaker via CKT 242 (RED) at all times to the following components:
• Headlamp switch
• Lamp control module (LCM)
• Switch of the RH IP fuse block headlamp relay position J
When the headlamp switch is placed in the ON position, battery positive voltage (B+) is supplied via CKT 10 (YEL) to the coil of the headlamp relay position J. The coil is permanently grounded to G201 via CKT 1450 (BLK). The coil is energized and the contacts close providing battery positive voltage (B+) to the headlamp dimmer switch via CKT 1346 (LT BLU). When the headlamp dimmer switch is in the LOW position, battery positive voltage (B+) is supplied via CKT 12 (TAN) to the following components:
• Left low beam headlamp
• Right low beam headlamp
When the headlamp dimmer switch is in the HIGH position, battery positive voltage (B+) is supplied via CKT 11 (LT GRN) to the following components:
• Left high beam headlamp
• Right high beam headlamp
The LCM provides battery positive voltage (B+) via CKT 1346 (LT BLU) through the headlamp dimmer switch to the headlamps under the following conditions:
• The ignition switch is in the RUN position.
• The ambient light sensor indicates darkness.
The lamp control module (LCM) monitors the ambient light conditions through the ambient light sensor. The ambient light sensor is a variable resistor whose resistance changes as the surrounding ambient light level changes. As the ambient light decreases, the resistance of the ambient light sensor increases. The LCM measures the resistance across the ambient light sensor and determines whether it is day or night.

Pull this circuit breaker till you can find the problem. Check for applicable trouble codes. You have a lighting control module, I can't troubleshoot that component from here.

You can get a free owners manual at this site (where i got your info)
http://www.automanualonline.com/base/chevrolet/tracker/2003/2003-chevrolet-tracker-owners-manual/
It's free just enter the code they give you and Save or Open it. I'd save it. The site is safe.

The relay is easier to change, I would try it first, unless you get someone with an electric meter and a lot of smarts to check it out first.
The relay should be in a black plastic box under the hood of the car, and may very well be labelled.
If a new relay does not fix it, you may be looking at a new "multi-switch" on the steering column.
That requires taking the steering column apart to change it.
God bless your efforts.

Driver's side high beam shorted out.

Take a test light or volt meter and unplug electrical connector at high beam light and with key on and headlight switch on (highbeem on) you should have power at dark green and white wire. If not then check 15 amp headlamp fuse. There is one for left and one for right. They are located at underhood fuse block (left fenderwell).Lift cover and look in cover for description. If there is power at headlight green/ wt wire then check for ground at the other wire black and purple. If no ground could have bad headlamp ground relay located at body relay box (left side of dash) or the ground connection for this relay a black wire located at left side of dash.
