My digital clock remains on inside of my car 24/7. Along with my key won't turn all the way to lock. I have gotten a new battery for the car, I'm just wondering how in the world to get this fixed.
I've had to charge the battery up twice in a month along with the car is very much a project vehicle since I got it off a dairy worker.
One more question... where would I get a new part for the key to go into? That is trustworthy... because I've had a few misadventures trying to get my car fixed. One more question... where would I get a new part for the key to go into? Re: My digital clock remains on inside of my car 24/7....
Try this
replace ignition assembly ....definitely faulty
digital clock might be faulty
has a constant power wire for memory of time
and ignition wire for on..... for it to light up

new one on me this. I would suggest you disconnect the battery for 24 hrs to let the ecu etc reset, but make sure you have a radio code if needed. Then reconnect and see how you get on. You can easily resync your fob by inserting key in door lock, turn to lock and at the same time press the lock button and to unlock do exactly the same.
I think you might even have your car battery checked as it is the heart of all activity. Batteries can build up overnight and react differently in heat.
Along that line is the transmitter for your key-less, the mate to your FOB which needs and uses radio signals to operate. The heat may have gotten to the part inside your car. Heat messes with electric components and may drop the strength of the signal. This is what it sounds like happens if the FOB needs to be over the hood of your car to operate. The car part of the system does not have a strong enough signal to respond to the FOB. Could be a gap in the antenna in the responder.

I have a Jetta 2005 and I just noticed that after this:
when my battery died after 7 hours playing my stereo, then I charged it for 30 minutes and my car could start on again. After that incident thet remote key started failing when I push the open button twice to open all doors. They remain closed, only passenger door open. Then I disconnected battery over 15 min to reset computer, and the clock and mileage gage remain on all time after that. Never remain on before it was disconnected and conneted again.
Those Luminas all did that. I ran a taxi fleet for awhile that used Luminas and they all had that clock displayed 24/7. It didn't cause problems though, unless we left other things on, or our battery connections were less than perfect. The side post battery was more problem than you might think. Good luck. TT
