Sometimes if the battery is weak enough that could cause a drain and suddenly the memory fails and then it resets to 12 oclock. Also the stereo system uses two 12 volt positive feeds one is a constant that many times is fused by the same fuse that feeds the lighter socket but also many times only one of the fuses on the fuse chart will mention the stereo when in fact another fuse is feeding a different circuit in the stereo.

You could have weak charging/starting system connections connections due to rotted/corroded battery/alternator/starter/engine block ground posts/connections or the cables could even be rotted internally that connect up to those connections.Again weak or poor grounds or loose connections cause a drain on the whole system that could over draw some circuits causing them to temporally loose their proper operating voltage/power.

If i put the ignition in my golf 1 off the clock and trip resets itself

Check the fuses. The constant power supply to the clock is gone. The clock and radio use a constant power supply in order to keep time and remember radio presets, when the ignition is turned on it takes over so if the memory fuse is blown this is exactly what happens.I hope this helps, take care. Every morning my key fob will not open my car if and reprogram the key several times eventually the ignition will come on and and opening and starting the car but the next morning it's the same again

Is it doing anything else like the dash clock resets itself? Check all of your fuses. My bet is if the clock is resetting itself every time the engine is turned off, the fuse running that circuit is also the permanent power supply to the immobiliser and central locking.

Mercedes s550 clock

Hi Aamer, Salaam, When the vehicle has the ignition switched off the visible readout is also turned off but power feeds the clock memory. Once you restart the vehicle the visible read out is illuminated and the figures become visible. If however the clock needs to be reset each time you start the vehicle, that means that the power feeding the memory of the clock has failed, which usually means a broken cable or a bad contact. Regards and Shalom John

My radio, car alarm, interior lights do not work on my 2006 subaru tribeca

The solution for the interior lights temp gauge etc. not working is the fuse under the hood as mentioned above.
As for the clock resetting, your battery is probably about to go. The tribeca turns off power to the vehicle if voltage drops below a certain level to save enough power to start back up. This causes the clock to lose memory.

The starter will crank a couple of times, but doesn't start. The clock in the vehicle reset itself, possible dead battery? It will sometimes crank, and bog down like its not going to start... than it...

that's probably a weak battery, I don't think a bad starter would drag it down like that, have your battery and charing system checked, that'll fix it
if the alternator is putting out 13 volts at idle it's good
If you can get a larger capacity battery, it doesn't have to be physicaly larger, just more amperes output, and be sure to clean all terminals

2002 Tahoe engine will not start

Electrical problems are difficult to diagnose in person without testing ...however, it seems that you may be loosing the body ground, causing power loss to the clock and likely the computer as well. As the starter is able to turn the engine, likely there is no problem with engine grounding. While cranking, the accessory side of the ignition switch should remain "hot" otherwise you would loose the clock every time you started it up. If it's not a ground problem, I'd look at the ignition switch itself to make sure it's not dropping power to ignition system while starter is engaged. on some vehicles this can also happen at the starter relay if an ignition bypass is used to provide hotter starting spark.
