classiic HVAC failure? LHD left hand drive car , no country told.
own for how long, 2years or 1day/ or what ( right passenger door?) for rain. ingress.
you said water, well that can be clean pure water
from RAIN or HVAC evap condensate,
using AC cool or heat + defrost mode? or just pure heat mode?
I do not know what you do there
i tray to capture water,in jar,and see if it is green or yellow or pink
that is AF antifreeze,
and put my fingers in it and rub fingers to thumb and it feels very very slippery, that is AF. not water
if i sniff it and smells sweet it is AF>
(3 ways to discover AF antifreeze)
ok it's water, so dont use AC or Defrost mode.
so that be RAIN or defrost condensart
sorry i could never even guess the water gravity effects from any car made from fire wall to rear of care, gee hills even change that.
learn to do deeper inspection of all carpets there.
bad door gasket
or last drove car with say a bandanna hanging out the door.
a 1 time event,nobody can guess ever.
and allowed rain to go inside any car.
or windows were not fully up.
It could be the window sweep set is allowing water in or the door seal around the inside of the door jam and another over look problem is that the heating core is leaking coolant in to the vehicles cabin but the leak would be close to the dash if this is the case
Check the cabin air intake. Chances are the weather strip that lines part of the opening has come off. The intake should be accessible beneath the trim at the base of the windshield on the passenger side.
Someone in the car watching for leak, someone outside the car with a hose.. Gently apply water to the door area and person inside looks for the leak... Another possibilty. If the water is comning from under the car it can be a rusted place or a body separaion.. harder to find. It can be comning in from around the windheild seal and running down the interior firewall. This is how a shop would find the leak.. but they would charge you for it..
Check the rubber around the windows and doors of the passenger side. Also, if your keys were ever locked in the car, and they used the passenger door to get in, your door could be bent but you may not be able to tell.
Not a BMW expert here. If it has a sunroof it could be a problem with the roof drain. Could also be a problem with a door gasket letting water run down a door pillar.
Not comming from the speaker! Make sure that the rubber door trim aound the door is intact and not damaged. Additionally, check the rubber seal on the outside of the window where it retracts into the door. These are the only 2 ways that water can enter through the passenger door.
Engine coolant will feel oily and the windshield will fog up and the car will stink. If it is just water it could be coming from the passenger door weatherstrip at top. The ac drain tube , if stopped up will also leak water in the floorboard.
pop the hood and take out the plastic shroud on the passenger side at the firewall. there is a rubber weather stripping that will direct the rain water off the wind shield other wise the rain will fall directly onto the top of the fan motor then run down onto the carpet. i noticed mine when the fan motor iced up and was about an inch thick of ice. all i did was RTV on the weather stripping to redirect the water good luck.
