    It's a 2007 kia rondo

  • Anonymous Jun 20, 2018

I have the same problem with my 2009 Kia Rondo. Has fuel, spark, compression. Replaced crank sensor. Still cranks and will not start. Filled it with fuel, drove it around for a couple hours, parked it for 20 minutes and it would not restart.

It sounds like you have checked the spark to the plugs? Fuel in the line has pressure? Pull the fuel pump relay and crank engine. Don't be surprised if it starts.

Have done all that, still no start

If you have compression, air, spark, and timing, I am at a loss. Do you have a good engine to body ground? This is usually a braided wire connected from engine to firewall.

SOURCE: BMW X5 2000 problem

There can be many causes for the car not starting. Generally it is usually a fuel or a distribution problem. Many fuel problems of this kind are related to electronic injection and ECU. This kind of troubles often need special equipment, and can be fixed only at a well equipped garage, where they can test fuel flow pressure and volume in monitoring ECU feedback at the same time.
Simple things you can do are
Checking and eventually replacing fuel filter.
Checking and eventually replacing air filter.
Check that there is no oil on top of new spark plugs.
In last case try to listen if car is running on three cylinders, this can leave uncombusted oil on cylinder, and mean there are troubles with distribution or camshaft.
It is useless replacing one of the sensors without testing them, and when a sensor is gone you usually get some additional light on your instrument panel. At a garage they will connect straight to the computer and get an error message in return, in case one of the sensors is bad.

SOURCE: Car will not start.Engine turns over but spark plugs willnot fire

I would say replace ignition coil, that might me the problem, otherwise it can be the ecu, which might have some electrical problems not allowing the car to stay running. Good luck.

SOURCE: My 2001 Mitsubishi Galant will not fire, what can I do?

Good post Kelly. Just a note. Gallants are very particular. Timing has to exact. If the timing belt broke, then they are looking at an engine replacement. Interference engine. It will break valves and /or punch holes threw the pistons(compression test). One more thing to look at is the catalytic converters. This will also close off air flow.

Dear Fixya, My 1993 excel hyundai turns over but won't start, we put plugs and wires and new fuel gasket. we r wondering where the fuel pump is, is there one or two pumps and how to get to them to fix...

Have you checked for spark first? Sometimes a car won't start due to no spark. This condition is usually caused by: Security system, bad ignition module, crankshaft sensor, camshaft sensor. You check it by pulling a plug wire and putting a screwdriver in the wire to see if it arcs. If it is getting fire look for the fuel pressure release valve usually located on the fuel rail, looks like a tire valve stem. If it shoots out gas, and you hear the fuel pump prime, check the fuel pressure regulator. It could also be the timing. There are four things needed for a car to start: fuel, spark, timing, compression. As for your question, as far as I know there is one fuel pump, you have to drop the tank to fix it. Hope this helps.

Engine cranks but will not start. i have new fuel filter installed new plugs installed .i have fuel pressure at fuel rail ,i have spark at plugs and the injectors all read 11 to 14 ohms resistance per shop...

If you've got spark and fuel, it should fire up. Crank the engine for about 20 to 30 seconds then immediately pull one spark plug. if your getting fuel, it should be wet with gasoline. No wet,no gas. But then again, the code says rich mixture. Doesn't add up. Check all the connections at the mass airflow sensor and the crankshaft and camshaft sensors.
