Hi, at the back of the seat you have 2 parts you have to take off
1) bottom pocket insert
2) and the insert that's at top of that witch is just below head rest.
3) once those 2 parts off you will see the head rest and motor. Theirs two pins, one on each side of the chrome arms. Pull pins out and head rest slides.

There should be tiny holes in the plastic covers at the base of the chrome rods attached to the headrest use a paper clip and push it in the holes as you pull on the headrest in the full up postion.

SOURCE: BMW 2003 745LI brought from USA check engine light

I had a similar problem, had it diagnoses and found out it was actually the thermostat not allowing the engine to reach normal operating temperature thus signaling the Cat to throw an emission code. It sounds far fetched but the diagnosis and fix was correct. I had the thermostat changes, fuel injection service, new spark plugs installed all for $350 and I have never seen that "Check Engine Light" again. Plus, my car drives like new with improved gas mileage.

I have a same problem in my BMW 745LI 2003. it leaks from bottom of engine (front). it's not the water pump or any hoses.

Check the seep hole on the water pump. This is an indicator of a water pump going bad. it will leak intermittently to warn you that it is going bad.
