Talking car battery and charger
connect the charger positive to positive of the battery and charger negative to negative if the battery
connect the leads first then turn the charger on

Even though the charger is new, I would check the charger with a meter to check its polarity just in case.

I have a Triumph America 2012 motorcycle and I left the ignition key on, 4 hours later I could not start the bike. No power at all...I have hooked it up to the trickler charger and will wait hopefull
check fuses sounds like you blew a main fuse when you hooked up the jumper wires.

Hi Moyerwm, Disconnect the battery for about two minutes and reconnect. If that does not help, have the battery fully charged and then it should be fine. Regards John

I have no power unless charger is hooked up?
sounds like your battery connections may be corroded,there is no connection between the battery and the terminal end,when the charger is hooked to the terminal,you are supplying power to the vehicle but not the battery,or you battery is bad and it will not take a charge

To hook up any kind of charger you need battery terminals in an open area where you can get to them, my suggestion would be take the battery out and charge it.. It's the only way if you have no room to hook the charger

I need to replace the battery on my 2001 excursion. I heard there is something that has to be reset involving the smog. is it something that i can reset myself?
if you have a battery charger and a friend[extra set of hands] you will not have to reset anything including your radio presets. remove battery hold down, loosen battery terminal bolts, hook battery charger up to terminals, have your second set of hands hold the terminals up and out of the way with the charger still hooked up to them, lift out old battery, put new one in, put terminals back on and disconect charger. tighten terminals and put battery hold down back on.

2005 Corvette stored in garage with no battery tender hooked up, now battery is dead. How do i gain access in the car to release the hood to hook up a charger?
Usually you can energize the electrical system by making a mini set of jumper cables using a lamp cord and alligator clips. attach one end to a battery and attach the ground to the starter housing or any metal bracket, the positive lead to the main terminal on the starter. (don't mix up the lead ends...mark them so you can identify them.) Do not try to start the car with this attached. light wire won't handle the amperage.

Dead battery. How do I hook up a charger? The owners manual is NO HELP
with the charger unplugged. connect the pos(+) cable on the charger to the pos(+) battery terminal. then connect the neg(-) cable on the charger to the vehicle's chassis. pick a spot that is unpainted like the head of a bolt. then plug in your charger.

Under the backseat to hook directly to the battery. or under the hood hot to the fuse box should be a red cover with a + on it, ground to the exhaust.

The battery charger has 2 leads coming off it as well as the power lead to the external power source .THE TWO LEADS WITH CLAMPS ON GO TO THE BATTERY THE RED GOES TO THE POSITIVE TERMINAL PLUS SIGN AND THE BLACK GOES TO THE NEGATIVE TERMINAL.MINUS SIGN, THE POWER LEAD PLUGS INTO THE POWER. AND THAT IS ALL THERE IS TO IT..

I have a 2011 Ford Escape XLT 3.0L engine, I came home one night and I got inside 5 mins later I go to leave and it won’t start. I figured it was the starter. So I take the starter out and go get it tested, it comes back a good starter. So I buy an ignition switch knowing they have not so good ones anyways. I replace the ignition switch thinking it would solve it. Well it still won’t start, now the anti theft is blinking rapidly when I turn key to on. When I go to turn the key to start it you hear a click like the starter wants to turn but it doesn’t. Looked up videos on YouTube, it was this it was that. I check Ed all my fuses all seem to be working fine. Except the fuse to the starter when I go to see if it’s getting power only one side works not both sides. Not to the fuse but the female part to the fuse box. And also I checked my one touch integrated start diode and nothing is happening there either. What’s your thoughts on if you think that is the issue or if I fix that is there gna be more problems ahead? Thanks in advance for any kind of help or advice.
