2004 Mazda B2300 M/T 5spd EGR not ready CA smog test, unable to reset drive cycle after several attempts

EGR VVL sensors not ready but no check engine lights or codes. Tried resetting the drive cycle several times but still haven't cleared. What can I check/fix/replace? Vehicle has passed all previous smog tests. Can the drive cycle be run on a dyno?

I have a 2011 Jetta TDI that fails CA smog test. The car is a 6 speed with only 37k miles. The.Smog shop said I needed to run a "drive cycle" on the car. What exactly IS that?

There are several monitors in your computer and whenever the computer is reset to turn off the check engine light, the monitors have to run a full cycle to show that they are good. Even though your check engine light might not be lit, the state will not pass emissions unless all drive cycles have been cleared. If you reset the check engine light, you might as well fix the error that caused it to light or you will not be able to pass the emission test. If there isn't an issue, you should be able to just drive for a couple of days for the cycles to complete.

Trying to smog my van but keeps saying that my OBD2 monitor not ready

Each vehicle has a different drive cycle, depending on the vehicle, normal driving usually resets the monitor and I know it includes, driving in town and highway, idling, A/C on, backing up ect. If the monitor doesn't reset after several days of driving get it hooked to a scanner and see what sensor is causing the failure.

My 05 ford focus Zx3 2.0L I went to smog for twice still don't passed the smog test the reader said cat is not ready evap is not ready 2 air is not ready what I have to do

Did you disconnect the battery recently? Or have the car worked on to correct a check engine light problem? And they reset the codes?

When this happens (loss of all power or code reset), the computer will run all its tests on all systems, and set a 'ready' condition when the tests are passed. Some tests require multiple 'drive cycles' or specific conditions (less than full tank of gas but more than 1/4 tank) to complete the test. Until all (or a specific number - some non-critical tests may be exempted) tests are 'ready', the car will not be passed. The assumption being that until a test is successfully completed, the computer may discover a problem with a system, one that would fail the smog test.

If you're confident that all problems have been fixed, you need to run through enough drive cycles so the computer can complete all required tests. Most ODBII code readers can also read the readiness of the systems. And most parts stores will read your codes for you (and system status) or let you borrow a reader.

Had both air fuel sensors replaced to pass CA smog. OBD2 evap and catalyst monitors say "inc" or "not ready," and vehicle won't pass smog.

Not sure how old the vehicle is, or model, or engine, so I can only give general suggestions. You may need new catyitic converters, or O2 sensors. They sometimes can't be corrected, just replaced.

Engine Check light

Take it to autozone or another place like it and have them read the codes and tell us what they are.

Failed CA smog test "MIL/Check Engine Light", computer data wiped

No this is not right. If you remove the battery everything resets anyways. If they are talking about relearn procedure, it should only require 50 miles. But if the light is on than either they did something wrong, created another problem, or there was already another one existing. Have the code read and let me know what it is. I'm in Ca too and used to prep european cars for smog, so I do know what I'm looking for. How did the rest do? What were the readings(if possible)?
