Radio's don't affect the security. But if installing another factory radio, it has to be programmed to your car. After market radios don't. If using an after market one, you will loose some chimes, like door, key, lights, ect...

I have a 1996 3.8 liter camaro. I was driving my car down the road when the gages started jumping and i found out that problem it was the battery and aldernater well after i changed them problems i have...

Hmmm, a puzzle.

The only way to disarm these alarms is with
the factory remote or turning on the ignition.
To turn off the factory alarm.

Ok, do you have the remotes?
If so, let's ID the system.
Go to www.KEYLESSRIDE.com & use th fcc #s
on the back of it.

If not try this:

Programming Factory Security on GM Cars and Trucks
Instructions for programming the GM factory security systems that do NOT
disarm from the driver's door key cylinder. This programming is for the
cars and trucks listed below.

96+ Camaro
96+ Firebird
99+ GM Trucks
99+ GM Sport Utility Vehicles

Step #1 Turn the ignition on then off.

Step #2 Remove the radio fuse only (not the fuse that says acc/radio).

Step #3 Turn the key to the accessory position. When you do this you
will get two chirps from the door buzzer. Should you hear only
one chirp, your vehicle does not have factory security and these
instructions do not apply. You need to hear two chirps.

Step #4 Press the unlock switch on the door. This will give 1-4 chirps
depending on the program step. Continue pressing the unlock
switch until you get to the desired chirp setting.
1 Chirp - Security off
2 Chirps - Remote Only
3 Chirps - Factory Setting
4 Chirps - Passive Arming

Step #5 Turn the ignition off.

Step #6 Put radio fuse back in.

I have a vw golf gti mk3 2ltr 8v i have had a cliiford g5 fitted however since having it fitted the car keeps cutting out after about 10 minutes. i have had a diagnostics test done and has come up saying...

Unless you have a lot of VW specific diagnostic equipment - don't even try to do that. VW's are VERY FUSSY with their alarm systems and immobilizer; you even run into problems if you change the factory radio for an aftermarket, unless you buy the by-pass solenoid set up for your car with the radio. You might try to contact "Ron" at obd2tech.com and find out, if he can help you.
