When you are bleeding brakes, the pressure from the pressed brake pedal is pushing the fluid out the bleeder screw. The caliper piston will not move until you close the bleeder valve and press the brake pedal.
Catch?
cranks fast
starts every time.
idles fine hot or cold , or both? hot idle not too fast.
i race engine , in park and neutral, I can hit 3500 rpm easy, can you.
i release brakes, (brakes are not packed in ICE , are they?)
I select 1gear or reverse (A/T or m/t)
the car moves or dont move, which is it, my guess catch = no move at all.
I try to drive, i look at RPM and MPH
RPM moves up and MPH track.
track means they both move in a linear progression.
RPM rises and for all RPM increases MPH also increases.
does it?
if all that works then we have an engine power issue.
weak on hills?
Hi, welcome to FixYa.com my name is Shawn and I will be answering your question.
Sounds like you are looking for the shift interlock solenoid located on the steering column. If the car won't shift out of park first check your brake lights and make sure they work. This is normally caused by a faulty brake light switch located on the brake pedal or a broken wiring connector to the brake switch. You can bypass this by putting the car in neutral then starting it.
I hope my assistance helped you and resolved your concern, if you need further assistance please as
the easy way is undo the bottom hose and let it all drain out that way, but dont forse the hose off or you could brake the rad, whenn filling it up again use antyfreez mix, but you may need to bleed the heater to get all the air out of the water jaket keep a cloce eye on the coolent level after the first short run
on automatics the overdrive is actualy not in the trans at all
it's a small cluch in the torque converter and is not repairable, the only fix is to replace the torque converter, but then you say it races free as if not in drive?
That's a failure of the forward clutch
I'm afraid you need the trans overhaued, I recomend the dealership and NEVER places like Mr Transmission type, they'll overhaul it wihout any testing and cannot diagnose, just overhaul and overhaul ultil eother you're broke, or give up
In a 250 you most likely have either a C-6 (Aluminum case) or a FMX (Iron case) both are good transmissions and again the overdrive is the torque converter, be sure they replace it too
