Screeching sound when cold not tha fan belt not the power steering belt not the top tensioner
It is possible you have a bad bearing in the alternator. They make an automotive stethoscope to listen for this, but sometimes you can get by using a screwdriver and pressing your ear against the handle while touching the tip to the body of the alternator. Be careful not to get the screwdriver into the alternator fan. You can generally hear a bad bearing. Perhaps a better check is to take the belt off the alternator and spin it by hand (when cold). If it turns rough, makes noise, or wobbles, the bearing is bad.
