As you stand in front of the car with the hood open you will see a black box on the drivers side front of the engine near the battery, held in place with two bolts, a 10mm socket will work to remove them.
There will also be a hose coming from the front valve cover you can remove that from the box.
Loosen the clamp holding the air tub to the throttle body and the clamp holding the air tube to the air filter housing u under the black box. An 8mm or 5/16 socket and a short extension will work for these.
Remove the black box.
The air filter box cover is held on by two snap style retainers. Pop those loose and remove the air filter housing cover. The air filter will be underneath.

Thanks for the help!, but I figured it out. just pull up from the back corners of the housing and the rubber washers release. I don't like to force anything, but found nothing on the web and got frustrated. (Got lucky this time) Had to replace the radiator hose (lower) that comes from/to the water pump. Everything is so dang tight, I could not get my hand to loosen the hose clamps. Removing the air filter box made it easy to complete this project. I tried to make an emergency fix by cutting the hose, as the leak was near the clamp. (water pump end) but after further inspection, the hose was compromised. The new hose cost less than $20 so not replacing it was a no-brainer. Unfortunately, the replacement hose from Advance Auto Parts was too long, it crimped the hose. I had to cut off 1/2" from both ends to make it fit without binding the hose. Easily done and easily replaced. I also replaced the hose clamps. I HATE those factory clamps!
Great blog! Thanks for the reply.
