Check brake fluid --if rear brakes are drum possible out of adjustment ---or need brakes replaced --possible faulty brake caliper following link has gm vehicles the consept is the same

I have a 2001 pontiac aztec with rear drum brakes. I'd like to change them to rear disc brakes. will i have to change proportioning valve, it has ABS sensor on bearing hub. front wheel drive.

to do this you will have to change the entire rear axle, to one with disc brakes
