You should be able to find vacuum hose routing sticker in the engine compartment.

I think your egr passages are clogged. common issue on the 4 cyl. start by checking the rubber hose under the egr valve it self. that rubber hose goes to the bpt valve and that hose sometimes breaks and can cause p0400. if the is good, lift up the egr diaframe as the truck is running. it shoud die. if it doesn't die, your egr passages are clogged. there are 4 welch plugs screwed into the intake at the top. if you look by the fuel injectors, you will see plugs screwed into the manifold. If I remember right, its an 8mm allen head socket, but you will need a long one to reach those plugs. remove all 4 plugs and clean the passages with coat hanger and then with pressurized air. carbon build up inside of the intake and clogs the egr ports. especially if the truck is higher milage.

jjgabrovic,
The windshield washer hoses have nothing to do with any electical componenents on the car. You simply won't get water to the windshield.
I suggest locating, and purchasing if necessary a repair manual for this truck. These newer engines have so many wires, and hoses and can be hard to trace.
All vaccum lines start from the engine area, tranny area, and lead to the firewall (back) and other compenants.
Start looking at different compenants that have small rubber hoses and try to trace them as far as you can. Search top and bottom, front and back, side to side. These hoses are sometimes linked with others by T's, and V's and such as vacuum operates several different components at once from one source.
I highly suggest getting a repair manual; CHILTON is the best, as it is more details and descriptive, and provides clear pictures to show particular components and such.
Please, let me know if you need any further assistance with this matter.
