I have a 1978 rabbit i just got it i had to jump it to start it and it ran fine drove it home then it wouldnt start again the next day i put it on a charger for about 15 mins and it fired right up drove it and it ran fine but after i parked it now the engine cranks but will not start i checked and it is getting good spark and i tried starter fluid but still wont even try to turn over just cranks what could be the problem
SOURCE: engine turns over fine , car will not start.
well the first part of your question i was all ready to tell you to put a new fuel pump in, now not so sure, there is a relay for fuel pump, can you hear pump cycle and relay click? relay under hood you will have to listen close they don't run long maybe a couple secounds, if you don't relay bad. if you do pump could be bad, do fuel pressure test pump could be weak. don't think sunroof and turn signals are related, but stranger things have happend.
SOURCE: New fuel pump, started & drove 15 miles fine ,the next day no fire
The fuel pump electrical harness must be replaced.
SOURCE: Engine turns over, won't start, no fire at plugs
What are you wondering is correct. Let check the coil first. if coil is good the there is a problem with the ignition module. If the ignition module is good then a problem with the crankshaft sensor. The coil can be checked by measure resistance of the terminals of the primary coil and secondary coil separately to see if it open. To check if it can generate a spark, once you identify the primary coil terminal, run 12 V wire to these terminal, connect a spark plug to the secondary coil, by just leaving a spark plug with connected with spark plug wire and let it touch the engine chassis. Now you have to make pulses at the 12 volts connection by making a break and connection several time to turn it on and off to generate the spark at spark plug. The ignition module is supposed to do what you are doing now to generate the spark. If it is bad, it can't do what you did then a spark is not generated. For the crankshaft sensor, only the shop can tell you it is bad or not. Good luck.

You have two pumps,I guess you know that ,if you already did one. Did you check fuel pressure at the rail and check out the electronic pressure regulator? What codes are coming up and do they stay set?
Testimonial: "when i saw expert service i kinda laughed just another rip off but the guy knew his stuff very helpfull "
SOURCE: my 2003 chevy malibu cranks but wont start. battery is good and altenator is good
To clarify - - if the engine cranks the battery and starter are ok.
The alternator does not come into play until the engine is running.
If it cranks but won't start, you have to figure out if you are missing fuel to the injectors or spark to the plugs to proceed.
A mechanic would check that and if there are any trouble codes stored in the computer.
