SOURCE: How to change front brakepads on Nissan Almera

all disc brakes work in a similar way. there are hold down bolts for the calipers which is what pads mount in. there is usually a keeper system that wont allow the pads to just fall out and usually cant be removed until you release the caliper. the hold down bolts may be bolt heads, allen heads or a larger star bit head. once the pads are removed you need to check the fex hoses condition and the rotors condition before you just slap a pair of new pads on. if the car had a slowregular wobble feel as you applied the brakes the rotors are likely warped from heat and need to be replaced or turned if the y are the type that can be turned. the caliper piston need to carefully be pushed back into the caliper. you need to watch your brake fluid resivoir while you do this as the fluid level will come up a little as you compress the cylinder back into the caliper. if you do all four disc brakes it can rarely even overflow depending on if you have added brake fluid lately. dont leave the cover for the brake resivoir off or the cap to the brake fluid off as brake fluid will draw moisure from the air quickly an affect the performance of the fluid if it gets too much water in it.
the best tool to sue to get the pistons back in can be purchased from your parts store for under 20 dollars and evenly and slowly compresses the piston back in. if you dont have one or choose not to buy one a mid size c clamp works well to. the main thing is not to get the caliper piston stuck by pushing it back in unevenly. this can require you to replace the caliper which would then require the brakes be bleed etc.
once back the brakes shoes can be put in place making sure you have the inner and outer shoes oriented correctly. some cars the pads are the same and in some they are different. there is a great little product called disc brake quiet that you smear on the bake of the new pads which prevents them from rattling or making any noise.
if all else checks out you now put the pad keepers back in which can sometimes be a challenge if your new at it then re mount the caliper on the car.check the brake fluid level and the operation of the brakes before you put the wheel back on then take a safe test drive. if done correcrly the brakes should feel smoother than they did and stop evenly without making any noise.
this is just a primer on disc brake replacement and requires skill and expertise and observation of other parts as you perform this. mechanics do this automatically since they may do 5-10 brake jobs a day so this advice is for informational use only and does not mean you are skilled enough to do this safely but this is the the basics on how to do it. good luck.

When you disconnect your battery and then reconnect it again, it disables the radio. This is an anti-theft protection for your car radio.
The enable your radio the activation code is in your vehicle owner's manual. If you do not have this code you need to go to your Mercedes service centre and get them to enter this code for you.

NEED RADIO CODE FOR 2001 S40

Radio code is specific for each and every car. It is specific like anti theft code.

So you can get it by providing your VIN# and registration details in authorised dealership.Nobody else can provide you. If anybody can provide you that , then there is no meaning of security for your car..

We got our Honda 2007 Civic fixed because of a car accident but now the radio will not go on. It is asking for a code. Where do I get the code?

Hopefully the car is still under warranty. (regardless of accident) Take it back to the dealer. Hybrid is not the vehicle you want to play around with electrity with. You have to remove the radio to get the serial number and them the dealer gives you the code. I recommend you let them (Dealer ) handle it. Its worth the money.

My husband had the same issue with not knowing the code (we bought the car used, never given the code). If you remove the radio, it should be printed on top. Odd, I know, but that is where his was located.

I need a code to activate my radio on my 02 jaguar x type

Hello,

I wanted to help you with it, but no one could provide you the exact code for the radio because it is an anti-theft code. Anti-theft is a feature of the radio so that once the radio is removed from the car or if you remove or change the battery of your car, you could never use it unless you have the exact code.

Now, check the glove box of your car and there should be a card that has that code. If you couldn't find it, take the radio out, get the serial number of the radio and contact the dealer or the manufacturer of the car. Give them the serial number and they would provide you the activation code.

Best regards,

Cleaned battery cables and radio is safe mode. purchased the car used dont know the code.

By now you probably solved this problem but here it goes. Once power is disrupted to the radio the radio goes into safety mode. At this point only the dealer can give you the code to restart the radio. The radio must be removed to gain access to the series of numbers on the tag. The dealer can input these numbers into the computer to retrieve your code. Once you have the code you can write it down and keep a copy (in multiple places) and also put it on a piece of tape and put it under the cover of the armrest or anywhere else that it is not visible. Any time power id interupted to the radio this will happen, even if the fuse is removed by accident. If you are taking the car for repairs always have that number if you llike your radio.
