Smoke from the exhaust? That's an engine problem. Blue? White? Black? Yes, it matters....
Blue likely means rings or valves. (expensive)
white likely means head gasket (coolant invasion)
black likely means fuel problems.
Check for black smoke out of the tail-pipe when the engine is revved. Black smoke means unburned fuel. The most likely culprit is a plugged air filter/air intake. A plugged exhaust, especially the catalytic convertor will kill your fuel economy and power. It may also be in need of a good tune-up (spark plugs, filters, ignition wires, distributor cap/rotor). Also check tire pressures and make sure that you don't have any seized brakes.
chek for a collapsed catalytic converter and/or a clogged exhaust system...if it only smokes when 1st started, it could need valve seals...chek for clogged charcoal canister too if equipped...
The general rule: white-ish smoke indicates coolant in the exhaust, meaning a blown head gasket, whereas darker smoke indicates motor oil in the exhaust, which means that one (or more) cylinders have a broken ring, and the engine needs a ring job. Fix for white smoke: replace head gasket. Fix for black smoke: ring job.
ENGINE SMOKES BLUE THE ENGINE BURNING OIL DUE TO WORN PISTON RINGS , WORN VALVE GUIDES AND SEAL./ ENGINE SMOKE BLACK ENGINE GETTING RICH FUEL MIXTURE CAUSED BY DIRTY AIR FILTER, WEAK IGNITION SPARK, FAULTY FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR OR LEAKING FUEL INJECTOR, EVAP CANISTER GAS SOAKED./ ENGINE SMOKING WHITE ENGINE BURNING ANTIFREEZE DUE LEAKING INTAKE GASKET OR BLOWN HEAD GASKET. IF ENGINE HAS A LIGHT WHITE BLUE SMOKE ENGINE BURNING TRANSMISSION FLUID DUE TO A RUPTURE VACUUM MODULATOR DIAPHRAM ON TRANSMISSION.
follow exhaust from engine and find lump , it has a bunch of wires running to a "lump" either before or after the first box , know as the cat convertor
probably leaking rocker cover gasket ,oil slowly lands on exhaust, ive got one and had exactly the same symptoms and rocker cover gaskets were the issue
Try blanking off the EGR valve where it mounts on the exhaust manifild, they dont do much usefull but are unreliable and leak ehaist gasses into the inlet, also they take pressure off the torbo leading to over fuelling.
