Well did they tell you what the code was? They should have given you some explanation.

Thanks for your reply. This was my first ever truck and I had no knowledge of codes, and no explanation was given. Since then, I learned codes have something to do do with this, but that's as far as I got. Perhaps I should take the truck back to the dealer and get this solved- a 2 hour drive away.

Don't bother driving 2 hours. Any decent mechanic should be able to help. You might even be able to fix it yourself. I would do this Hugh. Watch the video in the link I'm going to post. There are many more videos there you can watch also. A lot of parts stores like Autozone or Advance will read codes for you for free.

What could be the problem on my 1994 GMC Sierra Pickup 2500 flooded

Lots of stuff could be wrong, did you do normal maintainence to the vehicle? Did it start running ok again? Do you have a check engine light on? Give something to work with.

94 chev. 2500 p.u. running rough-scanner says cannot provide info., improper ground, correct problem, try again 5.7L - 4x4-5spd.-extended cab

Sounds like the ground for your ECU is bad. Not sure where yours is, but many vehicles have that ground on the engine, often on top, near the engine wire harness. Ask a Chevy guy or dealer where the ground is, so you can check it and repair it.

Diesle engine quits after starting. 6.5 turbo chev

If your filter hasn't been changed recently then by all means do itand see if that helps. I change mine twice a year, spring and fall. You are probably right about the fuel pump but your best bet would be to pick up a copy of Haynes Diesel Engine Repair Manual, part #10330 first. It has an excellent diagnostic and repair section as well as testing procedures and repairs for these engines. It costs about $20 and could save you some money. Hope this helps.

PICKUP DOWN SHIFTS WHEN ACCELERATED

Attach a diagnostic computer to the leads on your engine.
Check the codes to confirm that the onboard computer is choosing to shift under the correct conditions.

Or, get your local Dodge dealer (before they go bankrupt) to run the computer-diagnosis.

Voltage intermittent, engine missing at all speeds, affect auto trans. shifting, kills hot or cold

The charging system, pedal, and sensors have been checked. The trans. problem and missing problems were the original problems and when my mechanic finally sent me to Chev. none of the problems " choose to show themselves." I should know on Mon. if my mechanic has solved the problems with the greater number of symptoms. Keep me in your files. More later-  Bill
