How long since a tune-up? Any applicable trouble codes? If you have the spider fuel system, that system is noted for problems. I have seen service bulletins with this system, problem with cold start up. After the first start-up, the vehicle may run fine the rest of the day. The problem was fuel poppets sticking. The fix was to clean the fuel poppets, the cleaning procedure I saw was a shop procedure.

Generally, with misfire, check spark--fuel--compression.

My 2001 Chevy Silverado just got a newly rebuilt ******. The day i got the truck back the check engine light came on. I took back to mechanic and he ran the code. It said misfire and that truck was running...

did the code set for multiple/random misfire or did it set for a particular cylinder or cylinders?if it is random or multiple misfire you may want to check the fuel pressure and volume and for a vacuum leak. if it is a particular cylinder or cylinders then check your coils and also the compression to make sure the engine rebuild is good and something didn't go wrong.

I have a 98 silverado with a multiple misfire im getting a p0300 code ive replaced evrything except for the coil and o2 sensors.

MULTIPLE MISFIRE CAN BE CAUSED BY.CLOGGED FUEL INJECTORS.ADD A CAN OF SEAFOAM TO A 3/4 TO FULL TANK OF GAS.CHANGE FUEL FILTER, IF ALL READY CHANGED SPARK PLUGS AND WIRES.A WEAK FUEL PUMP AND A CONTAMINATED MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR WILL CAUSE LEAN MISFIRE CONDITIONS.

Random/multiple cylinder misfire

if you have done the basics of replacing plugs and wires,
what I found on a dodge that was doing the same thing,
I could watch the misfires happening on the scanner but the engine wasn't missing, turned out to be dirt and things floating in the fuel rail and partially plugging the screens on the injectors.

2000 chevy pu.When very cold outside, ticking sound is heard on drivers side of engine.Once engine warms up it is not noticable, but engine does miss. 431 v6

If it's cold outside, then the oil is simply too cold. Do an oil change, and be sure to use a low viscosity oil, such as 5W20. You do not want to use a thicker oil when it's cold.
Your engine misfiring could be the symptom of another problem. I would recommend having a tune-up done - spark plugs, wires, distributor and cap, roter button - and this might clear the problem right up.

Engine misfire code multiple cylinders, starts

The first thing to check is the fuel pressure regulator. It is a round device on the fuel rail with a vaccuum line on it. With the motor running pull the vac line and see if fule comes out, it should not. Map sensors can cause this but will almost always set a code. If I can help let me know. Good Luck
