1998 vw passat B5 3B outside (ambient) temperature display problem!!!

First of all i want to say that, i have outside temperature sensor , located front of car, next to radiator, behind front bumper. Also when i check left small screen where it shows MFA, there is invisible sign about ('C). just the problem is it doesn't show me the outside temperature. When i checked in Vag Com, testing Auto HVAC, outside temperature G17 shows correct temperature, just the problem to display it. How can I make it to show in MFA small screen ? I DON'T HAVE MIDDLE MFA Screen! I have just left and right Screen !thank you This is my Car and My video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d4Spn9RJUgg

Have you checked all of your vacuum hoses for leaks? Any vacuum leak, even intake manifold or throttle body gasket, will cause an engine stall right after starting. Likewise with a fuel pressure problem. If you aren't getting voltage, maybe whatever switch starts your glow plug cycle(either turning ignition on or opening driver door, depending on model) is defective, or any of the wiring of the circuit. It's a cheaper guess.

SOURCE: Vw Passat 1998 B5 - Fail on display

The fail just tells you there is a fault and you need to find out what is causing it. In your case it is the airbag. It's over 10 years old and I'm afraid that's about the limit on an airbag. Sometimes disconnectong and reconnecting the airbag will fix it but don't hold your breath

no it wont. in order for the air bag light to go off you must get a VW air bag resetter. they sell for about 45 bucks. it will reset the light and crash data. since your airbag light is on the airbags are locked up. once reset they will work again. anymore questions give me an email... 2012 nissan sentra outside temperature display not working correctly. Displaying 10 degrees colder than actual outside temp.

The outside temp sensor is located behind your front grille. Try to look for a 2-wire small sensor. You will need to remove the grille to gain smooth access and to test it. Use multimeter to measure sensor resistance when disconnected. Depending on actual air temperatures, sensor should measure 1.27 kilohms when at 104degF, and 16.5kilohms when at -4degF. The rest of the normal values should be in between these kilohms and temperature ranges.

How to fix the outside temperature gauge

A common problem on Hyundai vehicles is the outside temperature reading in their dash stopped working or displays incorrect temperature. The models in question with this fault are the 2011 Santa Fe, 2013 Sonata, 2013 Elantra.
The problem lies in the wiring harness along the bottom of the rad saddle (bottom/center of rad ). The ambient sensor is located near the horn in front of the rad. Examine the ambient sensor for damage and them follow the two wire down to the bottom of the rad, open up the harness and you will fine a break in the sensor wire from corrosion/ moisture. Repair/ solder in new piece of wire and heat shrink.

I WANT TO KNOW WHERE THE OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE SENSOR ON MY 2011 CHEVY CRUZE IS LOCATED. I WANT TO REPLACE IT BECAUSE THE DASH GAGE STAYS AT 64 DEGREES.

The ambient temp sensor is usually located somewhere in front of the radiator or behind the front bumper. You'll see a small device, clipped to a nearby metal part of the body with wires attached.

Before replacing the sensor, try improving a possible poor connection by disconnecting and reconnecting the sensor a few times. I've experienced this on my '98 Astro, and the temp displayed correctly after cleaning up the connection.

Happy Motoring!

1998 jeep p0071 error code

Ambient air temperature sensor...
If the temperature change is less than 3 degrees celsius in 200 miles of driving it can trigger this error code.

It actually relates to the outside air temperature which can be displayed on the overhead display unit.

It's a completely meaningless code as such.
