P0304 misfire on cylinder 4
posible cause
Bad spark plug or coil
Clogged or bad fuel injector
Poor connection at injector or coil
Injector or coil connection broken
Low compression on cylinder

I have seen plenty of coils go bad.
If you vehicle has separate coils on each cylinder do this
remove coil from cylinder 4 and replace it with coil from cylinder 2.
Put cylinder 4 coil in cylinder 2
Reset computer and drive vehicle until light comes back on
Read code if code is p0302 replace coil
If code is the same replace spark plugs
Let me know if you need more information or if it is a single coil

if I could get it to hit fire, I would erased codes, and I was incorrect on the code it was a p0340 camshaft sensor, replaced sensor but I think my timing is off, because it was running bad

According to the database I use you could have a bad starter but if vehicle was running bad don't think it is starter. I think you r still having trouble with the camshaft sensor because when my sensor went bad the car ran very bad. However if the vehicle is high mileage and has a timing belt it could be off the timing. The problem could also be with the connection at the sensor.
I will get back to you

I have 2001 toyota corolla with p0304 code

A P0304 means you have a misfire in cylinder #4. Could be a bad spark plug, spark plug wire or coil. Start with a new plug and wires. See if that fixes it

Code P0304 #4 cylinder misfire

Electrical contact cleaner is not good for map or maf sensors. There is a special cleaner for this however I have never actually had any luck with the cleaners. It very well could be the sensor going bad. Not being familiar with your car I can say I had the exact same issue with a 97 mercury cougar and it was the sensor. I would double check the plug making sure the gap is correct and it is not cracked, check the wire (swap to another cylinder if you can and see if the error code swaps as well), check the coil pack as well.

Runs rough with code p0304 how do I fix this

Part is cylinder 4 misfire. Try disconnecting the lead for cylinder 4 sparkplug to see if it runs the same. If it does, plum the plug and sees if the conductor is eroded or gap is too great. Gap the plug and reinstall. It could be coil for that cylinder also. Could also be a bad plug wire

2004 2.7L Santa Fe. Check engine light on got scan code P0304 replaced camshaft position sensor ck engine light went out now back on with same code replaced crankshaft sensor light went out for 2 days...

It's called a "dead" cylinder and you did right by replacing the cam sensor. Still does it though? Do a ohm meter test on the injectors to find if one is bad. The one that shows the lowest reading compared to the rest is the bad one. Code being P0304 means it's #4 cylinder dead. IF that injector shows a low reading, replace it or have it cleaned professionally. If the test shows all injectors reading the same, 16.5 or so, none are bad. do a compression test on all cylinders, if you find #4 cylinder is on the low side with a compression test, you have a bad exhaust valve and must give it attention.

How to fix p0304 on 2002 c240 mercedes

Hi there:
DTC P0304 Code - Cylinder #4 Misfire Detected
A P0304 code means that the the car's computer has detected that one of the engine's cylinders is not firing properly. In this case it's cylinder #4.

Symptoms may include:
the engine may be harder to start
the engine may stumble / stumble, and/or hesitate
other symptoms may also be present

A code P0304 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:
Faulty spark plug or wire
Faulty coil (pack)
Faulty oxygen sensor(s)
Faulty fuel injector
Burned exhaust valve
Faulty catalytic converter(s)
Running out of fuel
Poor compression
Defective computer

Possible Solutions:
If there are no symptoms, the simplest thing to do is to reset the code and see if it comes back.

If there are symptoms such as the engine is stumbling or hesitating, check all wiring and connectors that lead to the cylinders (i.e. spark plugs). Depending on how long the ignition components have been in the car, it may be a good idea to replace them as part of your regular maintenance schedule. I would suggest spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap, and rotor (if applicable). Otherwise, check the coils (a.k.a. coil packs). In some cases, the catalytic converter has gone bad. If you smell rotten eggs in the exhaust, your cat converter needs to be replaced. I've also heard in other cases the problems were faulty fuel injectors.

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

Thank you for using FixYa, have a nice day.

99 chevy silverado 4x4 getting code p0304 coad changed plugs wires and coil still getting code, runs rough and cranks for a long time before it starts

You could have a faulty Fuel injector problem with your poppet valve. There common to go bad and start to leak causing misfires and ruff idle. There is an upgrade to the CSFI to covert to MFI system.

Here is a link that should help you with your P0304: http://members.shaw.ca/betterthanyoutoo/Sticking%20Poppet.htm

Good luck and thank you for using fixya

2003 Dodge Ram 1500 computer codes P0304- cylinder 4 misfire, how do I fix this? P0700- Transmission Control System Malfunction, how do I fix this?

P0304, could be a bad plug, bad coil, bad injector, low compression, or other stuff. The P0700, you need to look at codes in the TCM. It is telling you that the trans computer has a fault in it.
