Where do i find timming marks on ford raider 93 and how to back tencioner off. headgasket blind job with no book. out of water plzz help

According to my Chilton book it is 4 degrees Before TDC for a standard transmission and 10 degrees Before TDC on the automatic. The marks are on the pulley it says, not the damper. It doesn't say what size the engine is. It does list a 170 and a 144 for 1963. In 1963 the timing is 6 degrees BTDC for the standard and 12 BTDC for the automatic and the mark is on the damper. you will have to line up the timing marks, you can get the tools and a book at your local auto parts store. the book you will have to buy, or you can try the library, but the tools will be lent to you. Good Luck Tim

This is either an air lock or a leaking headgasket. Remove the rad cap, with the rad full, watch for air bubbles. You didn't tell us if you were adding coolant??

cant get the timming righ and ther is no markes for the timming

Ther are none. It takes a tool to hold the cams in place while the valve cover is removed. Get a chilton book from the library.

Put the engine at TDC compression stroke , Thats when the valves are both closed on No 1 cyl and the piston is on its compression stroke .then align all cam and crank marks. set distributor/rotor button on No 1 cylinder (rotor pointing at #1 plug wire) . rotate engine 2 revolutions and recheck all marks. Fire away

there should be a mark on both gears they should be closest to onhe another directly facing each other

the water pump is even further in than the timming belt.in fact the pump pulley is driven by the timming belt. however with a shop manuel its not bad of a job to do, just go slow

Make sure you are getting gas and spark, they are a few ground wires that come off of injector harness that if they are not grounded will cause injector NOT to pulse re-check wiring and get back to me. Good Luck
