Why would the water level keep dropping ?

Few possible causes... You could have a leak in pipes or cooling radiator, you could have a leak in your heater matrix, has engine overheated? You could have a blown head gasket, check for leaks & remove oil cap and look for creamy milk colour sludge, if you see milky colour sludge under your oil cap then your head gasket needs replacing

it may only leak when driving..when the pressure increases. this leak could be internal as well as in a head gasket. fill it up and let it idle and get up to temp and check for leaks then.(never remove the rad cap from a hot engine)

It could be anywhere
But let it cool and fill with water see if you can see it leaking. If not fill it to top put cap back on and squeeze upper radiator hose to put pressure in system.
If you don't see anything it could be water pump

I fill it up and it takes two or three days to leak out.I have tried stop leak and dye, check all the hose connect with water in a spray bottle. Is there a other test i can do.

If this is a water leak check water pump diaphram (the hole in the bottom of pump) if you see water around this area replace water pump. Also check water pump gaskets for leak.Or have it pressure tested.

My 1997 Nissan Maxima 4 door sedan is leaking coolant/anti-freeze. What could be the source of this leak? We fill it up and after several days it is out and the engine gauge is running hot.

could be the water pump. where is the coolant coming from?? behind the a/c compresor?? if so, you need a new water pump. need to know location of the leak or at least general location if you can not get exact.

If you are sure the water isn't leaking somewhere - run the car stationary and look for spots on the floor - then is lost thru evaporation. Look at the caps of the radiator and the state of the expansion bowl.

Water leaking from top of expansion tank.

have you replaced the bleeder screws? and the expansion tank cap they both have O-rings that compress and will fail over time also check the hose at the top of the exp tank it also has o-rings inside it

Coolant temperature and water leaks

Hi

You need to have the cooling system pressure tested, this should point out the leak.

If no joy, a Carbon Monoxide test on the cooling system, if the fluid changes color, you have possible head gasket problem.

I suspect it will be either a Water hose, or Water pump ?

Good Luck !

Water radiator problem

When it does not pump the water at all the engine brakes after few miles.

Check if there is any leak in the water lines, or in the radiator.

If there is no leak, that means that the water is being vapourized inside the engine because of a defective head gasket.
When this happens you often can also get white smoke coming back from the exhaust.

You probably need to replace the head gasket.
