I have no speedometer operation.

Previously had a PO500 VSS code, found bad LF ABS sensor, replaced and code gone. Also have ABS and Brake light on constant with no communication with ABS-CU. I have run powers and ground tests at ABS-CU, all tests good per flow chart. Have also tried 2 separate used ABS-CU from salvage yard. and swapped instrument cluster with known good cluster from a working vehicle. The vehicle speed signal does not come from speed sensor in transmission!!!!( that is because it has ABS, and the sensor in trans. is a dummy sensor with no terminals or connector?

If you pulled a code from the ABS system, then you have communications at the DLC. If you pulled a communications code from the PCM/cluster. You have communication there also. All the systems like this I have seen. The ABS sends the signal to the PCM. PCM sends it to the cluster. I am assuming you have electrical diagrams/pinouts. Check the continuity of the data wire from the ABS to PCM or cluster.

Randy, I have not been able to pull codes from ABS, because there is no communication. This is a very complex system as it uses a DLC1 and a DLC2 connector, neither in which I can communicate with. Not to mention one of the most ******* up wiring schematics I have ever encountered, as it bounces you from system to system.
Likewise I can not even manually pull ABS codes.

Can you post the schematics? If so, send them to [email protected]. Just a note. I have fixed many ABS systems because of the pump to body ground. It is grounded to a frame connected to the body. I run the wire directly to the body. Just another note...Brakes will still work without the ABS system.

Mitchell nor Alldata allow me access to send a wiring schematic, as I have tried many times before. As far as the ABS, we are not worried about that unless it is hindering the speedometer operation. The speedometer and cruise control are the only concerns, knowing that once speedometer is fixed, cruise will more than likely be fixed as well.

Because of no ABS data I performed a flowchart, which was symptom based, "ABS and brake light always on"

I haven't worked on the Mazdas, But I have a ford van set up like your describing. The speedo works off the wheel sensors, not the transmission. My ABS module died and took the speedo with it. It also popped the ABS and Brake lights on.

Randy, I emailed you the schematics, subject line is, Mazda MPV wiring diagrams. Thanks for the assistance

TPMS light, Brake Light, ABS light comes on for a second, Speedometer drops to zero

I had similar issue with my Rav4 2013 xle. Initially, it jerks when I rev past 2000rpm. Later, all dashboard lights come on and engine goes off and it became very persistent. I sent to Toyota dealership a couple of times but no luck. A local mechanic found that a clip for the air cleaner hose was missing and so the hose was very loose. He fixed a clip and that was the end of my trouble. Good luck

2009 Yaris VSS with manual transmission. Speedo and odo don't work and MIL has code Po500. No ABS light. Where is the location of the VSS sensor?

The Vehicle speed sensor comes from the combination meter , and that comes from the ABS ECU first . Could be a shorted wire , to ground , usually has something to do with the radio installation but faulty meter is a possibility .

My engine light is on, my speedometer sometimes works and sometimes doesn't register, some times it bounces back and forth.

code p 500 refers to vehicle speed sensor (VSS) --circuit malfunction====causes ---wiring---VSS sensor---ECM
the engine light reports serious faults with both the engine and the transmission
I would go to an accredited auto transmission shop and have the VSS replaced or checked
The VSS drives the speedo, cruise control, gear changes ( reports to the transmission control module (TCM)

PO500 vehicle speed sensor 2004 toyota sienna

VSS is in with the TCM in the transmission. If you have tyre pressure senders then the light is telling you of a malfunction in that area . ABS will not operate unless a wheel stops under brakes and then only that wheel receives attention from the ABS unit. So if you are on a hard surface road and braking normally there will be no ABS action at all. Under heavy brakes when the wheels start to skid you will feel a pulsation in the brake pedal and that is the indication that the ABS is working. You will in affect (when the ABS is working) take a greater distance to stop than normally expected.

Volvo abs lights stays on

Usually the ABS computer knows what it is doing. You may want someone to hookup a scanner to the ABS test port.
When I had my speedometer and odometer act up, it turned out to be a bad alternator. You might want to check yours.

Does it give you a vss (vehicle speed sensor) code.If your vss is bad it will affect both the ABS and the speedometer.
