I'm looking for information about the air bag system. The dash light stays on and I'm getting a voltage problem signal. So I'm interested in the air bag system wiring.

Airbag light stays on. Can I turn it off myself

No

We have had dash check lights or MIL Lamps
for 30 years, on all vehicles,so it is strange we
get these questions

ANY dash light that stays on, after the motor is running,
is a vehicle problem, that has to be found & resolved

If an Air Bag Light is on THE AIR BAG IS TURNED OFF
because of an SRS System Fault

My 98 dodge neon's speedometer started jumping up and down while driving, then the air bag light came on and stays on, next the car started making a puttering noise and sounds kinda muffled when shifting...

Hi. Look like your charging system is down. Check battery first, alternator fuses relay responsible for charging. Your battery doesn't have or hold voltage and air bags are first in the system as good indication of power lose unless is actual air bag fault

What would cause the air bag dash light to stay on?

Look for the lamp cluster unit if the light is not receiving the voltage to groung .. to be off. The air bag sensors seems right or else it would have triggered the bag, hence you must check back from the indicatorr lamp bu tracing the voltage or using a test lamp-12volt- to find if the trigg is absent in the harnesswires, the connectorr or the board or is gettting a cross circuit. Hope you chek this way. Good day.

Horn wont work but works with the panic button

The computer controls the horn and looks for a signal from the Remote Keyless Entry system or the horn button. Due to the fact that the horn works with the RKE but not when you press the horn button, would cause me to suspect that the Clock Spring mechanism, which is also used to activate the Driver's Air Bag, might be malfunctioning. When the Clock Spring breaks, the computer does not get a signal from the horn button so it can not opperate the horn. If I remember correctly, when the Clock Spring goes out, the Air Bag light on the dash either does not light up for 2 seconds when you first start the vehicle, or it comes on and stays on all the time, which is to let you know that the Air Bag is not functioning, and the primary cause is the Clock Spring. So check your owners manual to see if the Air Bag warning light on the dash is functioning normally. Your local Chrysler dealer can quickly and easily check the function of the Clock Spring, Horn, and Air Bag system, through the use of the DRB scan tool. If it is in fact the Clock Spring that is malfunctioning, the Air Bag module and the steering wheel must be removed in order to replace the Clock Spring, which should be left to a trained professional, that has been educated on the proper handling of the Air Bag system. You wouldn't want to accidentally deploy the Air Bag, as you could be injured. That and Air Bag modules can be expensive to replace.

Air Bag Light, Brake Light, & ABS Light came on in the dashboard.

Check and see if your alternator is charging
Low voltage will cause those lights to come on, as the computer is shutting down.

To check your alternator you will need a volt meter... WITH the engine running you should have about 14 volts coming out. IF NOT you need to replace the Alternator!
