Tune it up and replace the 02 sensor that keeps setting the codes bank 2 sensor 1. Have your oil and filter changed right before you go for a retest to. That will clear up 3 codes P0300, 0155 and 0154. You might have to replace the fuel sending unit to get rid of P0463 but if the gauge works OK I'd leave it alone.

I have 1994 chevy 1500 it failed smog at idle . the hc ppm was100 max and i was putting out 848 what should i do. the high idle test at passed fine max is1.0 and i was.95

May not be much you can do yourself without a scanner and an exhaust gas analyzer.
High HC is too much fuel. So it could be a leaking injector, O2 sensor, air flow problem, or something else.
It could also be not up to normal operating temp due to an open thermostat.
Without the proper equipment you really have no way of knowing whats coming out the tailpipe.

Diagnose a running rich condition. Too much gas, or too little air. Start with a clean air filter. Have your fuel injectors checked for leaking, stuck open, being out of whack. Make sure PCV system is working, along with the EGR. Is ignition system in good shape, good plugs, plug wires, and coil? If ignition is not up to par, you could have unburned gas getting through engine. Remember, it is running too rich. Good luck.

Smog failure High HC's only issue

Hydrocarbons (HCs) are unburned fuel. You may need to replace sparkplugs and wires, if this has been done or doesn't fix the problem you catalytic converter may be worn out.

About the only thing you can do is take it to a qualified DEQ specialist and have them take a look at it. It might be something as simple as a hose, or not.

1994 Dodge Ram 1500 5.2 manual trans 2wd failed smog 3 times now

Are you failing because of the puff of smoke at the start ?
That is usually a sign of worn valve seals. They might not be too terribly expensive to replace if you want to save the truck.
If the failure is a general HC failure after start, try a set of Nitrode plugs. They are about $11 a piece at Jeg's. Be worth a try.

Fail smog test

fist i would like you to post the year make and model of the truck along with the HC ppms and NOX ppm it would be very helpful but high hc and nox can be attributed to a faulty EGR system nox is produced when the combustion chamber temperature gets too high so a small amount of exhaust is cycled back into the air stream to help cool them there are other causes but without looking at the levels its much harder to say

Need 92 toyota paseo to pass CA smog test ! What causes too high HC in smog test????

High HC means moisture in the system. Try driving it longer then take it to the smog shop. Otherwise it could be hard like a head gasket or easy such as a PCV not functioning. Any ways you should always drive it about 20 miles before smog check, longer when the weather is cold.

hc's are unburned fuel- I would change my sparkplugs and resmog it if that is the only gas that was high

pull head off and grind the valves in,this should help reduce the levels ,also check the pistons and bores if ok or look it then rebuild and try it again

High hc

you may need replace the catalytic converter, but 1st do this, clean the throttle body and idle airbypass valve, change the oil before the retest as well, get it as hot as you can before the test, hold it at a high idle prior to the test, this may squeak you by, as a 20 year smog tech these are the thing I did, if all else fails do the cat conv.
