I would look at the antenna connections ... you will need to remove the unit from the dash to get to the back of the radio. [Google removal of that specific radio for your vehicle]. You may be able to get your hand up under some dash boards to reach the back of radio?
The antenna conception is typically a round coax conductor that goes to a plug into the back of the radio.
Try moving the plug around while radio is on ... if you get signal pull out connector and clean contacts with rubbing alcohol. Test again and reinstall.
sounds like a bad radio that shouldnt happen bttery has no effect on changer opperation if the radio powers up the changer should work as long as its a factory radio w an internal six disc changer.
it might be that your gadget posses a wrong panel written AM when there is no am tuner. If you can check inside it whether it has a choke wound with copper wire for AM reception. If its missing, its aint gonna have any reception
THIS SOUNDS LIKE YOU HAVE A RADIO PROBLEM. IT MAY BE WORTH YOUR TIME TO HAVE A DODGE DEALER CHECK THE RADIO TO SEE IF INDEED THE RADIO IS BAD, BUT THEN YOU HAVE THE OPTION TO REPLACE THE OEM RADIO WITH A NICE AFTERMARKET RADIO. THESE HAVE COME DOWN IN PRICE DRASTICALLY AND ARE PROBABLY CHEAPER THAN REPLACING THE OEM RADIO. WITH NO SIGNAL OR STATIC ON THE AM BAND SURE SOUNDS LIKE THE AM BAND IS DEAD. IF I CAN HELP MORE REPLY TO: ARCLIGHT1217
Fm radio doesn't work on Mazda cx7. Only static but am works.
