SOURCE: Where is the blower resistor on a 2001 Nissan Sentra?

Its actually not that bad to change. If you open the glove box and remove the screws then the screws along the bottom of the glove box at the bottom of the dash the box will slide out. Remember to disconnect the light if it has one. Now you will be able to see the underside of the dash. You can see a large black box that has wires and vacuum lines all over. You need to locate a small flat plate with two screws and a plug in the middle. Disconnect the plug and remove the screws. The resistor will come straight out. The back side will look like small coiled up springs of different sizes. Install in reverse.Hope this helps. Good luck. Please re-post with updates. Thanks cj2176.

You will need a new catalytic convertor assembly. Yours is below treshold efficiency in other words its "no good".If you have it replaced, ask the garage/dealer to give you the old one back. Its worth some cash if its full. It doesn't matter thet it failed. They are going after the mesh inside of it and that is worth some $$$$. May not be much , but better than nothing.

I would check that spark plug, and have that coil checked or replaced. Also check for any vacuum hose leaks in the area of the cylinder.

Probably the general cause is a broken wire.

06 Cadillac STS V8 car has codes P0174 and P0420.

• DTC P0171 Fuel Trim System Lean Bank 1
• DTC P0174 Fuel Trim System Lean Bank 2
.
The engine control module (ECM) controls the air/fuel metering system in order to provide the best possible combination of driveability, fuel economy, and emission control. Fuel delivery is controlled differently during Open and Closed Loop. During Open Loop, the ECM determines fuel delivery based on sensor signals without oxygen sensor (O2S) input. During Closed Loop, the O2S inputs are added and used by the ECM to calculate short and long term fuel trim (FT) fuel delivery adjustments. If the O2S indicates a lean condition, FT values will be above 0 percent. If the O2S indicate a rich condition, FT values will be below 0 percent. Short term FT values change rapidly in response to the heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) voltage signals. Long term FT makes coarse adjustments in order to maintain an air/fuel ratio of 14.7:1. If the ECM detects an excessively lean condition, DTC P0171 or P0174 sets.
Diagnostic Aids
• Excessive resistance in the fuel injector ignition 1 voltage circuit or the fuel injector control circuit may cause the following symptoms:
- Lean condition
- Misfire
- Rough idle
• The system will go lean if an injector is not suppling enough fuel.
• A lean condition could be present during high fuel demand.
• A malfunctioning MAF sensor can cause this DTC to set. Refer to DTC P0101 .
• Review the Failure Records with a scan. If an intermittent condition is suspected, refer to Intermittent Conditions .

DTC Descriptors
This diagnostic procedure supports the following DTCs:
• DTC P0420 Catalyst System Low Efficiency Bank 1
• DTC P0430 Catalyst System Low Efficiency Bank 2

This code could mean the catalytic converter on that bank has failed .

2004. What are the probable causes of DTC P0430?

Here's the crux of the problem, something is plugged up somewhere and is keeping your catalyst from performing properly. I suspect that the exhaust manifold may be leaking big time and because it is, the pressure flow to the cat isn't what it should be. It's possible that a piece has been blown out of the head gasket and your engine is performing poorly. In fact, I would suggest that you run this down as it seems the most likely cause.

Because your car is hesitating and rattling when you are accelerating I suspect that the engine's pressure levels are all over the place due to the head gasket.

If you have the tools available, you can check it out yourself, but given the complexity of the Amanti's engine, I would suggest leaving it to a trained technician.
