Column shift lever broke?

ahh 2 posts , the word DRIVE no told at all, A/T or m/T BOX

TELL IF THE TRUCK IS AUTO OR MANUAL STICK SHIFTED TRANNY, YOU ONLY SAID THE WORD GEARS, AND MEANS NOTHING. EVEN CVT HAS 1 GEAR. sorry but all I can guess this.

yes the IP cluster is above the steering column but is not part of it at all (physically )_Instrument panel cluster full name.

if the A/t box fails, if M/T box please say so. if yes the MC is dry?
do this:
1: check all fuses
2: scan the PCM or all DTC errors for sure tranny.!
3: the cluster display is a pure digital brain, PRNDL321 ,etc.and if DTS sends out wrong transmission range to the cluster (digital comm) the cluster will show that all wrong or dead and if wrong the A/t box cannot shift..

if the IP cluster shows any wrong things or things good, that information needs to be told.
DTS is digital range transmission switch.(at the hand floor shifter level)
the DTS sends this to many things, and all things fail if DTS fails.

2003 Jeep Liberty 3.7 Sport automatic 4x4. It won't shift out of a low gear, the rpm revs high and continues to accelerates will Not Shift to Higher Gear.

You need an auto-electrician with a pro grade scan tool computer to find out which module and sensors has failed.

2000 suberban dash board

Tilt steering down,, turn on key shift to low gear,, grab front of the dash where the 2 pieces meet, top right side ,,,and pull it will come out,,, no bolt just presure clips,,, very simple,, the light switches will need to be unpluged when you get it loose to take it all the way out,,,to take the guage cluster out ,,,some have 4 ,,,7 mm bolts on the corners,,,some have star type bolts,,, then unclip the shift indicator line in the center of the cluster,,,"looks like fishing line with a clip on the end" and pull out the cluster,,,,also be sure to put the indicator back in th same spot or your PRND321 will off

Gear shift indicator lights flicker on instrument cluster

Sometimes on the shifter its self they use two different items, some use a medal rod and some use a cable like an ebrake. if its a cable one it may have stretched and isn't going back to its actual spot for the instrument lights to work properly. you can tighten that cable.that's all I can think of right now good luck.

Cluster light for gear shift is out. 2000 Buick Century. How to repair?

well if this is a clomun shift u need to pull the dash cluster out u may need to pull some dash trim panels off to get at screws or small bolts most trim panels are held in with clips then make sure u pull the small bolts or screws that hold the whole dash cluster in carefully pull cluster and unplug any wire harness as thier should not be any speedo cable on a 2000 model on back side of cluster u will find bulb hold in tabs find the one for shift indicator and replace installation is in reverse mode hope this helps

All dash function went out, stick shift locked in park

Solved my own problem, well kinda...It's the Speed Sensor (not ABS)...Apparently Kia has a talented way of tying in all kinds of wires, sensors etc together...Problem reamains that no one sells the sensor...I suspect I'll have to get it from KIA..Thanks FixYa for posting my problem...Tony G...

Warning lights on dash of 91 honda accord

The s light might mean a problem with the transmission computer it is right next to the computer for the car under the carpet. does the car shift gears? if it don't the tcu is burned out ,it is a common problem for 91-93 accords

Automatic transmission feels like it is in 3rd gear pulling out

Your trans is going into limp mode and that is why it is starting out in a higher gear.With the o/d light flashing there is a problem.Try this disconnect the battery for 5 min then start the car,before you do anything cycle the o/d button and see if it starts flashing.If it does then there is somekind of electrical problem.Could be bad wire or bad solenoid.If not drive it and start out with o/d off in low and shift manually through the gears and see if they are all there when you need to get in fourth hit the o/d button to shift and see if it does.They should also be able to get a code for the flashihg light to try to pin point.Hope this helps and thank for using fixya
