As by heat only works some of the time , you mean it doesn't blow air out of the vent's . This means you probably have a problem with the blower motor or blower motor resistor or blower motor relay .
Rear Window Defogger Inoperative

Exchange the rear defogger relay with a known good relay from the under hood junction block.
  1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
  2. Press the rear defogger switch to the ON position.
Does the rear defogger grid warm?

Yes Go to Step 2
NO Go to Step 3

2

Replace the faulty relay.
Is the repair complete?
Go to Defogger System Check --

3

  1. Use a fused jumper wire in order to backprobe between terminal A4 of underhood junction block connector C3 and ground.
  2. Use a test lamp in order to backprobe between terminal C5 of underhood junction block connector C3 and ground.
Does the test lamp light?

When the blower isn't working try hitting on the dash near the glove box an see if it starts to work , if you haven't tried this . Or under the dash at the blower motor , do you know where it is .Up under dash behind the glove box . If it starts to work the blower motor has a worn spot on the motor armature . If that's not the problem buy a used control head an see if that does the trick .

SOURCE: i have a 1993 cutless

Check the blower motor resistor or the fuse for the heater. The blower motor resistor should be right next to the blower motor. I hope this helps. Good luck and best wishes.

SOURCE: I have a 2001 Alero, rear defrost isn't working at all, frost inside my car, won't defrost and heat isn't working! :( HELP any idea's... I thought it was the heater core but there isn't any leakage un

You definatly have water inside the car. Pull the carpet back in the front and rear checking for water leaks. The only way frost can develope inside a vehicle is the presents of moisture.
The other possibility is your HVAC drain is plugged and water has built up inside the heater motor area. Have the drain checked and cleaned.

Location of fuse for defrost

There should be a fuse in the interior fuse panel for the rear window defroster, but the windshield defrost is a mechanical connection from the heater controller. If your heater works out of the vents and the floor position, but not diverting air to the defroster you most likely have an issue with either the cable or the diverter door itself.

Where is the rear heater screen relay in a 2005 peugeot 307 1.6 110 hdi 5 door hatch

Sounds like a blown fuse...Check your fuse block for the rear window defroster...If it is OK, it might be that the leads to the window defroster have been broken by many openings and closings of the rear hatch.

1991 ford escort hatchback no heat , rear defroster has never worked could be a thermostat problem ?

could be a thermostat problem if it is stuck open or none in engine. also check your water valve to see if it is working properly. Might need a system flush as sometimes the heater core will clog over time. as for the rear defroster, 3 things to check. first turn on rear defroster and check for voltage to window. if no voltage check fuse and switch.
