Your ABS system light stays on in the vehicle because either when you jammed the brakes on you could have blown the sensor fuse take the vehicle to a authorized service place the fuse is like 5-10 dollars is all if it does it again the ABS sensor system is no longer repairable without a new ABS module witch cost big money
whats abs doing abs stands for anti brakeing system if light stays on system has detected a error in brake system error needs fixing then it can be reset
Yes this is an acceptable quick fix if you can stand the ABS light on. You now have non ABS standard power brakes. Folks survived without ABS for many years. I personally hate ABS systems.
if the abs light is already on the abs system is already bypassed, and your base brake system should operate without the abs working properly as long as the red brake warning light is not on
ABS stands for Anti-Lock Braking system. The system could be triggered if you are on wet pavement or sliding and the brakes cannot properly control the vehicle deceleration. The vehicle could also have a fault in the ABS system due to a wheel sensor that is corroded or damaged. This type of problem is best left to an expert as the ABS system can be very expensive to repair.
ABS comes on all by it self at low speed braking, A GM defect with their brakes!!!! Sensor thinks the tires are locking up an puts on the ABS, my advice pull the ABS fuse the brakes work better!!!!! Sensor is **** never had a problem with my Honda's ABSI sent a letter to GM 0 response, never will buy one again!!!
the abs system has picked up on a problem with the abs. the abs will not be functional till the problem is repaired. the abs cpu needs to be scanned for fault codes and it will tell the mechanic exactly which part of the system is having trouble. once fixed the light will go out. mike
The light is on because there is a fault in the ABS system, while the light is on the system is disabled, as soon as the ABS problem that turned the light on is fixed the light will go out, have a self test run of the ABS control module for a trouble code, this will steer you in the right direction to fix the issue.
