Why my 2003 3.3L Voyager sputters when aircon is turned on?

I guess I should start with the obvious - the engine is under extra load with the ac running. So any minor problem with the ignition or fuel system will be magnified.
Could be weak spark plugs or wires, anything that would cause a miss.
There could be a problem with the amount of drag coming from the ac compressor too.

Code po 172

PO172 is system too rich. This code is probably coming in because you are stepping on the throttle to get it started. This really dumps alot of fuel into the engine. I would suspect that you have a fuel pump (or dirty fuel filter) that is getting weak. A weak fuel pump or dirty fuel filter, will not only cause the car to be hard starting, but will cause the fuel to "drip" from the injector and not be "sprayed". The fuel then "flows" into the combustion chamber and burns poorly. You need good fuel pressure for fuel injectors to function properly. Have the fuel pressure checked. See that the fuel pressure is within specification for that vehicle. If not, fuel filter, or fuel pump need replaced

98 intreped stalls after getting warm, about 1/2 on temp. gauge. Then it will not restart fo 15 to 20 min. Also sometimes after driving and shutting down it will not restart untill after sitting for a...

98 and 99 intrepid was manufactured with weak fuel pumps causing them to vapor lock try pouring cool water on the fuel rails on the intake to calm vapored gas then try to start it. Even the temp gauge at half way mark is probably still low on coolant causing engine to be warmer than normal causing the vapor lock to fix this problem replace the fuel pump with a 2000 or newer intrepid fuel pump that carries a little higher psi to prevent vapor lock from reoccurring this pump is compatible with your 98 it will plug right in

While driving, the rpm suddenly goes up and down and the engine died and the aircon is turned off. when its park the idling is rough. could it be the egr valve thats causing it?

Sounds like a fuel issue try replacing the fuel filter first if the problem persist take it to a shop to determine if it is the fuel pump or injectors.

No gas, no spark, 1991 chevy cavalier 2.2l 4cyl

This is an all too common problem with the Cavalier and other GM J-body cars. Usually it is because of the crankshaft position sensor or the harness going between it and the DIS (aka ignition module). Without the DIS seeing a signal from the crank sensor, it doesn't know when to trigger fuel and spark.

Sometimes this can also be caused by a faulty ignition switch. The switch will allow you to "crank" the car, but it doesn't make the proper connections for the ignition system, so the car never actually runs.

The previously indicated oil pressure switch could also be causing the problem, but if you hear your fuel pump run then it's OK.

Hopefully this helps. If not, your Cavalier is as messed up as mine and probably not worth fixing.

I would check the basic things first. Battery Terminals, the Battery itself, gas in the tank, then the probable cause a faulty fuel pump. A quick check of this is to take the air horn t-nut off the 3 inch t handle screw which holds it and spray starting fluid in the throttle body. Do not open the throttle body like an old careburator just spray it in their, put the air horn back on and if it starts it's a probable fuel pump. You can also try to turn on the key three times but do not start it those three times just see if the fuel pump sounds like it's working. On the third try turn the key fully on and if it starts it's a probable fuel pump. If so Google under 100 dot com and they have blazer fuel pumps for 60 or 70 dollars. A fuel pump from an auto parts store will cost you from 250 to 300 dollars. I wish you the best of luck becuase I have replaced four fuel pumps in my own blazer. Good Luck!!!
