SOURCE: O2 Sensor defect

MR988905 costs $300+

SNG O2 sensor is just below $100

they may claim being made with the same quality and both are tagged "direct fit" for easy installation.

its just my idea, good luck.

SOURCE: need to know placement of heated oxygen sensor

The O2 sensors are located in the exhaust piping.
One (bank 1) is on the engine side of the Catalytic convertor.
Second (bank 2) is on the other side (exhaust end).

There are manufacturers that make universal fits that will go in either location. Be sure to specify the rear sensor when you go to the parts store.

It will look like this....

It threads right into the exhaust pipe.

What part do i buy to replace oxygen sensor Bank2, senosr 2 code P057 for a 2006 mitsubishi montero limited

This is a sensor in the exhaust system. If you take your vehicle details to a Good parts retailer and ask for an Oxygen sensor. They are also know as O2 or Lambda sensors. Sensor 2 is positioned 'after' the catalytic converter, (the CAT). There are 2 sensors for each exhaust fitted, one before and one after the CAT. Bank 2 is the side of the engine involved.

FAULT CODE PO154 AND P0174B ITS ON A 2001 MITSUBISHI MONTERO 3.0 AND WICH ONE OF THE 02 SENSOR IS IT BEFORE THE CAT OR AFTER

The error code should tell you which bank and sensor you are looking for. with that information:

bank one on a montero sport is on the passengers side.
bank two is the drivers side.

sensor one is before the converter,
sensor two is after the converter.

each bank has two sensors. on each bank there is a sensor with a black and a gray connector, and no they will not interchange. connectors are different.

besides disconnect the actual o2 sensor, you can just disconnect the plug to be sure you got the right one. the plugs are hidden in the sides, just follow the cables. you could disconnect the plug of the one that you thing is the wrong one and check again the error code to see if you are getting the same error. if you are getting a different one, then you disconnected the wrong one.

good luck with the change. some wd40 or liquid wrench will help with the removal of the sensor.
